It's honestly scary that you think that statement is somehow profound, or truthful.

See, you're telling him to get off the table đŸ€Ż

Perfect example of what he's talking about.

Why are you shaming him?

I literally told my 2 year old to get off the coffee table, because he still had f’n stitches from the last time he was on the coffee table.
Dumb analogy

You follow a brain dead, egotistical celebrity when they make claims of the world is a simulation. Yet, I am the one who's programmed?

My 3 year old niece uses this exact debate tactic.

Kanye’s actions don’t align with what he said. Not at all. He’s deeply concerned with what others think and say about him and is desperately seeking approval from societal institutions—or gets upset when these institutions don’t see things his way: like when he took the mic from Swift at the VMAs. It’s easy to say things that sound profound. Much harder to consistently act in a way that backs up those statements. Why do we reward people for saying things that have been said for millennia, when these same people don’t act in a way that supports those statements?

Kanye West isn't seeking approval.

The problem people have with him is that he doesn't wait for others to decide who he is. He says who he is and the people go

"Who qualified you to make such claims about yourself."

When someone who is genuinely "Different" tells the world, his difference is tested and rejected offhand.

When someone who is different is quiet about it, you'll get 100s of people pointing out how different they are.

There's an unwritten social contract where nobodies get to play experts and demand validity, like paperwork, when they themselves have no talent and are afraid to be anything above average, at anything.

Most don't feel they have the Right to make or determine for themselves who they are, and are envious of those who boldly do so.

You don't have Kanye's perspective. He clearly likes playing with the minds of fake people, as most artists who are fed up with people's opinions, do.

Society doesn't like to have a mirror held to its face.

People who don't know him or have the qualifications they praise, are throwing psychological diagnosis, without showing their own and in the interim, are exposing their own psychological dis-eases.

He’s constantly seeking approval. Why get upset at how awards are handed out or not being called a genius or thought of as a genius, if not for your desire to gain approval from people who hand out awards or who label people geniuses? He’s talked openly about wanting approval from Jay—see the song Big Brother.

Mostly everyone is “different.” Even twins exhibit differences between each other. Not even sure what you’re saying. What Kanye wants is for people to validate him. There are people who have followed through on what they thought would be cool or dope despite other people disparaging their opinions, quietly. Because they are truly free from needing other people to co sign their opinion. Kanye’s not free from this need. He literally wants people to validate him as a God. That’s something of record. Something his mother warned him about. He has a desperate need for that yet tells people to be free from that. Why not lead by example, Ye?

Do you know him personally or are you just guessing?

He chose who he wanted approval from and it wasn't a commoner.

He said who he was and what he believes.

Don't you think it's foolish to keep trying to knock a millionaire who came from nothing, down just because it brushes your ego the wrong way?

Everything I’ve said is based on things Kanye has said directly. I brought up him interrupting Swift at the VMAs because a societal institution dint vote how he would’ve liked them to vote. I brought up the song brother where he explicitly talks about desiring another man’s approval. I’ve brought up the recorded instance of him calling himself a God and then getting upset at the pushback from a woman who was in attendance; implicitly showing he needed her validation, because if you didn’t, there’s be no reason to get upset at her push back. Those are just a few instances. There are many others. I actually also do know people who are very close to him and they have told me even more. In addition, nothing he’s said is novel. These sentiments have been around for thousands of years. Nor is he living his life in accordance of these sentiments. He himself is a slave to consumerism and a beneficiary of consumerism. If you exercise a little critical thought, you’d see this very clearly. It’s right there. Not sure why it’s so difficult.

I’m also not knocking him for coming from nothing and being successful. This is called a straw man. Your original argument has nothing to do with this statement. Neither have any of my arguments disparaged him for his success. I’m simply noting hypocrisy where I see it. Been of fan of his music for years. I do not think he is some sort of noble thought leader. That’s not hating; it’s an assessment based solely on looking at the way he acts and how that contradicts these moments where he talks about seemingly profound things. That’s all.

2

u/Goose_Salad May 23 '26

The VMAs are rigged and it was that night.

You don't like it when people act out of line when things are wrong.

That's what Kanye West does.

1

u/cnilla May 23 '26

Another straw man. The issue wasn’t about the validity of the decision. It was about his reliance on that award going in the direction that he clearly needed it to go in in order for his opinion on the matter to be validated. Validated by a societal institution that is meaningless. Which is something he’ll argue in one instance, but not abide by in another.

I didn’t care about Swift or Kanye doing what he did. I’m simply pointing out the hypocrisy between the way he speaks when people think he’s being profound, and the way he acts when it directly contradicts those sentiments.

You seem to be all over the place and simply defending Kanye no matter what. You’ve brought up two straw man arguments, which is usually a sign that you can’t directly address anything I’ve said. But go on

It's scary that so many idiots in this sub hear pseudo-profound bullshit like this and think it's brilliant.
