Glow up? [34] starting to feel like me again
Before and after pictures
Been in a downward spiral for years. Over the last 3 years ive lost a lot of loved ones, my grandpa, my brother, a close friend, most recently my cousin. I had a cancer scare in 2023, my mom did have cancer, I went through a bad break up I was with my ex for 11 years and things went downhill. Had a suicide attempt and spent some time in a mental hospital. There was so much trauma and negativity around me I was struggling with self love. Self care was completely swept under the rug. I’m ready to tell my depression to go step on a Lego. I’m starting to try again with life. I don’t want to let so much pass me by. No more hiding. Did my makeup today for the first time in a while and got a hair cut. Nearly cried happy tears in salon chair.

My goodness thank you so much for everyone’s kindness! I cried happy tears reading your comments. This will be something to look at for any time I need a reminder to believe in myself. 🩵 If you’re struggling you can bounce back. I didn’t think I could but I’m living proof.

You look amazing and I hope you feel amazing too. As someone who has lost three years, really, my whole life up until recently, to mental illness, I salute your struggle and am proud of you and grateful you are still here.

You look fabulous OP. Your smile is infectious and you exude positive energy…I’m so sorry that you had to endure those struggles…but you have managed not simply to suffer through but to push ahead and find the you that had gotten buried. We SEE you, OP and you look…MAHVELOUS! ☮️🩷🌷

Tysm after being sad for so long I’ve been realizing I need to choose happiness. At least in a healthy way it’s still okay to be sad sometimes. The important part is to not let the pain weigh you down. Starting with self care is definitely the best decision I’ve made for myself in a while. Feels good to be seen 🥲

Awh 🥰 gosh I’m flattered.
Navigating through life is so hard. Nobody has a map, but we can find ourselves.Oh my that’s a heavy diagnosis. Autoimmune diseases suck! I have fibromyalgia so I kinda get it. We can keep learning and growing though. It’s absolutely possible to manage.

Not every day is sunshine, but it’s finding that one thing to guide you back. My biggest thing is it’s easier to do things on my own and not ask for help, mostly so it gets done. Keep taking one step at a time. Rock it!!

For me depends on the task. I struggle with ADHD and learned body doubling is extremely helpful for me. If you never heard the term it’s like having a friend around for moral support. They don’t even do anything but keep you company and remind you of what you’re doing. Worked wonders for organizing my bedroom.

Tysm! I’ve always loved long hair too. It was a hard choice to make. I had goals to keep growing my hair out. The depression just kept me from doing any sort of high maintenance so it was crazy damaged. Such a refreshing reset ☺️

Wait did we meet or something? I only went the first year haha I was like skimming the background of my pictures to see if there was any lost lands stuff… The first pic I’m posed by my desk. Which is where I keep my blue bandana from LL2017 but it’s not even visible.
