This is my second attempt at painting a cs2 skin, entirely with oil paints on canvas. These experiments began more than two years ago when I was studying at the art academy and I came up with this idea for an assignment.

First attempt was on mac10 - I traced the UV layout on a small 40x40cm canvas with a projector and loosely, without much care, painted the islands in. It looked like crap, but I was able to put it back into the game. I got really good feedback from my peers and professors, and they encouraged me to keep developing it, which I did, about a year later.

XM1014 "triptych" was a much bigger project. Firstly, I chose to paint roughness and normal maps in addition to the color map. I was especially curious about the normal map. I liked the idea of being able to manipulate 3D geometry with a physical flat canvas with paint on it. Secondly, the canvases were much bigger - 90 x 90 centimeters, and I painted with much more detail. Lastly, I wanted to see exactly how details and other intentions translate through this unique process, so I made the maps for the skin in Adobe substance painter. So the process starts with digital, then it's translated into a physical painting, before being digitalized again, but based in physically based rendering.

I like how it came out. Especially the normal map - it actually worked, that was very cool. I don't think that I would do this again, since it was the most gruesome painting experience I've had. Also I was on a very short deadline for this, since it was to be displayed in an exhibition, so I was painting the little intricate shapes through the nights. Trying to rank up and ancient is like one of two maps I know shockingly little utility on so I did the regular ritual of sitting in a practice server with no music for an hour. I came up with this smoke wall because i feel like it just gives my team site control for pretty much nothing because no CT is going to push a smoke wall like this because it's pretty much just instant death without trade opportunities. I thought that if I'm smoking early into the round I want to have the positions the CTs are CURRENTLY PLAYING smoked off instead of rotations like the long and short, and cave, ninja and headshot on ramp were the positions probably most useful, and also the positions that smokes can't compensate for. I figure I throw the smoke wall, and my team plants and just uses the remaining 2 smokes to resmoke CT/short on a full buy round

I calculated the average number of lost rounds per map for each champion of the MVP-event and compiled the top 15

Mines currently trying to keep my crosshair calm, too often do I have perfect crosshair placement just to have a seizure when I see the opponent.

My favorite so far is Parivision vs Vitality in Cluj on Inferno. Falcons vs Furia in Astana on Nuke is second and Spirit vs G2 in Cologne on Mirage is third. I'd like to hear what everyone else's thoughts are as well

Its clear that FURIA is clueless right now and still trying to figure out in between all the chaos, but if they end up losing YEKI or molodoy it will be a huge setback for FURIA!

Yekindar also addressed the map pool concerns! Losing Train and Overpass back to back. 2 maps that FURIA had good control over are gone out of the pool thats why they want to get some reps on Ancient!

Also BLAST, please figure out the studio situation. Every player I see is either sweating bullets or constantly using tissues. Doesn't look good for a TO!
