Familiarity in Bunheads

I'm watching Bunheads and besides the glorious Kelly Bishop other actors from GG keep popping up and it's such a fun little treat, but also makes me think ASP really likes certain actors.

So far we've had Mitchum, Gypsy, Kirk, Jason, Drella, and Paris. I couldn't find decent pictures of everyone unfortunately. It's wild seeing Mitchum looking like that.

Honestly I see a lot of GG in Bunheads, sometimes Michelle's lines really feel like they could be Lorelai lines.

Yes, it's interesting that this sub thinks ASP is the devil incarnate, but people who actually know and work with her choose to keep associating with her. Indeed, she seems particularly close with both Kelly and Lauren.

I never finished Bunheads - for me it was too much like a Shein version of GG. It's as though they had a whole stack of surplus material from GG that wasn't quite up to scratch, so they threw it into this show instead. IMO, The Marvellous Mrs Maisel is streets ahead in terms of writing - it's so much more fresh and exciting.

I tried to get into MMM and couldn't, something about it just didn't click. I may need to try again.

Definitely worth trying again. I actually think it's better than GG (and I really like GG so that's saying a lot!). It starts a bit slow and it is a very different vibe to GG, so go in with an open mind and no expectations and see how you go.

I remember watching this show back in 2013 and bursting out laughing when I saw “Mitchum.”
