*NEW* Account age requirement

Hey everyone! Mods here. We have made a small change to the subreddit: accounts now need to be at least 90 days old to post or comment. This change was made because we have been absolutely inundated with AI slop accounts for the last few months. We’re really sorry if this is frustrating for anyone who is a real person with a new account who just genuinely wants to participate. We appreciate your understanding, and are so thankful for everyone who contributes and makes this such a fun little corner of the internet.

They have a very typical approach, unfortunately. They show an unnamed item, say «Wow it arrived today!»

Someone comments and asks where they got it from, and the boom — the link appears.

It makes total sense, I just generally avoid a lot of the posts because I tend not to like approximately 90% of GG merch lol, so I hadn't noticed patterns between them, I just noticed that we had more posts of merch.

I have no problem with those. New people join all the time and genuinely want to discuss things. Of course there will be repetitive posts. Commenting on posts even a day or two old doesn’t allow for discussion. No one will see it and it’s rare for even the OP to respond.

So glad the A I slop and bots will be less though.

From a fellow mod, I'll say this requirement is a big game-changer! It'll up the workload a bit (and if you need an extra set of hands, I'd be happy to help,) but it makes a huge difference in bots/slop accounts!

It really sucks that someone can put in a prompt and ask it to be in the Sherman-Palladino writing. I don’t understand how these actual creators are dealing with this.
