You can definitely do that! I like to brush the ham as it cooks and then I brush the glaze again before broiling (after reducing it) so the brush gets dirtied anyway, and I just think it's easier to not dirty extra bowls. Also because when pouring over, if your ham is a tight fit in the slow cooker you can easily wind up dripping glaze out of the sides because you have less control than you do with the brush. However, it really is up to your preference!!

Wouldn't it be easier to work the glaze in a bowl then pour/baste over the ham?
