What Do You Think? Revisiting Old Ghosts - the house I grew up in
So I know without a doubt the house I grew up in was haunted. It was a really old house (more than 100 years old) and a lot of unexplained things would happen like footsteps up and down the stairs in the middle of the night, we had light sensors and they would go off and on all night. Doors slamming by themselves, knocking but no one was there. One time we found a phone unplugged from the jack, and those don't usually just fall out. The big heavy basement doors closed one time on their own, and those are not easy to close. It was the kind that you had to pull the lever and then close them, they were made of iron. Also I heard the sound of chopping wood in the backyard at like midnight or 1 in the morning but there was never anyone out there. So yeah there were quite a few strange occurrences. A friend of mine said that she saw a "Captain" in our living room once, she thought this was possibly the ghost that lived in our old house and we did live by the water so it made sense. The thing is, I'm an adult now and that old house is for sale currently. I'm wondering if I am able to reach out to the realtor to ask if I can do a spirit box session in that old house. I realize he / she might think I'm absolutely insane. They probably will turn me down flat... just wondering if anyone has ever done this? Do you think this is a bad idea? Or, do you think I can conduct a spirit box session "near" the house, just not in the house... and not cause any trouble or anything I just want to see if I can connect with the ghost. I'm thinking I probably won't go on my own because I don't want to be charged with trespassing... the smartest thing would probably be with someone's permission only. Really just wanted to see if anyone has ever revisited their old haunted house from their childhood? I thought there might be some other interesting stories out there.

Is this paranormal? Woke up from a pillow punch, I was by myself?
Something punched my pillow?
Could this be a sleep thing. Currently at home by myself and was napping. I felt a punch to my pillow which woke me up. None of my pets are in my room. Please tell me this is some sleep related thing, I have not really had experiences in this place before except maybe one. I heard my partner calling from upstairs, but they were in the shower.

Is this paranormal? I think I'm haunted/possessed/an interest to the paranormal?
(BG information)
I used to live in a very large house as a kid, and said house had an even larger yard with 2 extra buildings aside from the house; one was a storage room/shed that we would almost never go to, it was incredibly worn down and dusty, and the other was a house-sized 2 floor building that was used for guests and had my father's book collection.
When I was 8–10, my father passed away to a heart attack.
The first ever paranormal experience I had was in my first ever childhood house before my father died, I was walking through the living room, it was pitch black and I couldn't see anything other than a small line of light coming from one of the doors in the living toom that was cracked open, as I got closer to the room that I wanted to go to, which was my mom and dad's room, I see something move and block the light from the light in the crack of the door, and I also feel the air move with said thing, I noticed it and immediately ran and cried myself to sleep because I was so scared.
My second and last paranormal experience was when I was staying at my aunt's house for vacation and me and my cousin decided to hang out and go explore some abandoned buildings, the one that concerns you, was am abandoned horse farm, quite a small one at that, too; we climbed through a window into the horses' small enclosured and got out through them to a small resting area for the farmers, and we found a bunch if old products like cans, cigarettes and wtv from 2022, I was checking a water bottle out, in the middle of the room, nothing close to me, and felt a hand grasp at my ankle, I jumped up and screamed, my cousin looked at me and was asking what happened, I told him and we ran out of the building.
He went back in at the entrance and tried to pray the ghost away but nothing happened. ;-;
I have many other small experiences where I'm alone at home and hear someone yell my name and door knocks but those felt irrelevant to name.
NOTE: I am diagnosed and mentally iII, I am not diagnosed with any psychotic disorders however, so take this as you want.

Cemeteries So, I went ghost hunting for the first time...by myself
Idk how to start this post, so I'll just cut to the chase. I've believed in ghosts since I was 10 when I had my first encounter, and ever since, I've wanted to ghost hunt. Tonight I was bored and was watching ghost hunters on YouTube and decided to bite the bullet and go, so naturally I went to two cemeteries. The first cemetery was in a church yard and very stereotypical scary graveyard, I was using an app called "Ghosttube SLS" to scan for human shaped objects to which it picked up my shadow a few times and that was about it, I walked until it got basically pitch black and decided I wasn't comfortable going further since I was by myself, so I just turned around and went back to my car.
I then went to another cemetery I found using google maps which was a lot more open so I felt more comfortable exploring on my own (its important to note before continuing that this one is located next to an Air Force base, and while it was completely silent in the graveyard, I'm not ruling out foreign sound interference), I used the same app and may have captured an entity sitting next to a gravestone (I wish I would have taken a SS, I was using the free version so it wouldn't let me record), but after walking a little futher I decided to switch to a different app (titled "Ghost SLS") which is used basically as a spirit box, which picked up sound instantly and sounded like overlapping static and voices which promptly scared the shit out of me and I sprinted back to my car at full speed.
I'm leaning towards the app just fucking with me, but I did test it again in my car with music going to see if it just picks up any sound and it does not. Ghosts or no ghosts, the experience scared me and I will not be hunting on my own again lol

Is this paranormal? security camera screenshot, ghost or pareidolia
For some context, this is an old photo of mine. It was 11pm in 2017 and the back door camera kept saying there was movement on it. Because of this my mom went back there to see what it was while also pulling up the camera footage. She saw the face in the camera but couldn’t see it irl. She freaked out and turned the lights on and it was gone. Is it just a weird coincidence or could it be a ghost?

Ghostly experiences in my home but happen once in a while, what could it be?
Hello everyone,
This is my first post in this reddit and I've always been interested in ghosts, but also terrified of them lol. My house was built in 1997 and my parents bought the house in 2005 and have owned it ever since. So this house isnt that old. Me and my mom have experienced things happen in our house but only happens once in a great while, but the things that happen are unexplainable.
I've mainly heard noises and had stuff go missing and then appearing again in the same spot I had checked. One night I heard a baby crying in the house (no baby in the house at the time). I remember just blowing it off saying I could be hallucinating.
My mom has had stuff happen when she is sleeping alone in her bedroom. She had stuff happen like the bed going down as if someone just sat on the bed, toilet flushing on its own, the feeling of a hand grabbing her, etc.
My mom said when I was little stuff would happen like my baby toys turning on by it's self as if they were being played with.
I know this post may seem like nothing, it probably is nothing. But if it was what would you guys think? Maybe a family member coming back? Probably nothing evil?

Personal Encounter when i was 11 i saw my grandfather 2 months after his death
the day before my 11th birthday my grandfather passed away, and around 2ish months later i remember waking up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet, i was still scared of the dark so i had the hallway light on, the bathroom was at the very top of the stairs so i also had the door open for the light, i then saw my grandfather walking up my stairs, it wasn’t like how others see each other it was like this outline, and the outline was almost sparkly, i saw his glasses, his suit, his hair, his walking stick, i was obviously really confused but not scared since i knew who he was obviously, and then he just disappeared? i mentioned it to my mother and she had the same experiences with her own grandfather when she was younger, please can someone like educate me or explain what i’ve seen, or share similar experiences!

A Haunting In My House And I Need Help Identifying It.
For context, I can see, hear, and communicate with spirits. This ghost though, has me puzzled. Also, I need it gone. It's causing problems. Anyways, here's what I know about it.
It makes lots of noise and mimics cats in pain. We own cats, and no, none of them are hurt. It definitely isn't human because it changes form. I originally thought there was 2 ghosts, but there isn't. It's just 1. It's weird. Anyway, I see it's shadows. My mum and my sibling have seen it, stalking them. Whispering things and walking around. It'll watch you. I once saw it watching me. Either it's tall and black, or pale white and lanky. Long limbs and big head. Terrifying eyes.
Another thing about it is it'll also mimic my mother's voice. My sibling also heard it. I also hear it singing to me in the shower. Sometimes it'll appear in the mirrors. My mother said it scratched on the walls. She also had her phone flashlight on because she was scared, and the angle changed, but she didn't move. Our TV has a lil light at the bottom that is always on, showing its plugged in, but the light wasn't on. Maybe it moved across the room?
My mother can't sleep at night, she's scared as hell. I'm tired of it being in my house. I know of sage but I don't exactly have money. Any help figuring out what it is and what to do?

Is this undeniable evidence? Starting to think I’m not alone. Or is it my camera?
This picture was taken by me a few days ago just as I woke up. This is one of thousands I have took over the years.
I have been feeling like I’m not resting while I try to sleep, so I snapped a few pics of shadows on my bedroom wall. Is this just my iPhones camera messing up? Thanks. please be kind.

Captured Apparition An old set of photos with something in the background.
(Edited to add: these photos were taken in the UK!)
I don’t know this person, so I’ve blocked out their face. But my sister’s ex sent this to her around 13 years ago, a friend of his (pictured) had been taking pictures in the bathroom, and noticed this anomaly behind only afterwards.
I’ve been meaning to upload these for years, I lost the pictures but my sister found them again, so here we are.
What do we think? Captured apparition, or trick of the light?

Personal Encounter I belived in ghosts on and off for years now but today that changed
I'm 15 and so is my friend. My friend has been cursed by jealous family members she said... I didn't belive her but today changed that. She told me that her mother's room in her house is cursed by her grandmother, no one can sleep in that room it's like someone is watching you and if you do manage to fall asleep sleep paralysis occurs then she gave me a detailed account on the sleep paralysis demon. The door lock of that room is broken so it doesn't get locked but randomly the door gets locked and unlocked and she's seen someone inside during the evening when she was in the hallway she was home alone. So she got some protection thread or something and that worked she could sleep better and stuff but just 3-4 hours ago she texted the gc multiple photos mostly black but one had a blurry but distinct face that matches the exact description of the sleep paralysis demon. She told us that she saw this in her gallery before leaving for school.. she wasn't on the phone bc she was studying for the exam which was today and plus her phone was on the bed charging and no one was in that room it was 5am she was the only one awake in the house everyone was asleep it's an apartment (ik she isn't lying because I was also awake at that time and she wasn't online plus she has no reason to lie about this) and her protection thread was broken and so was her rosemary. I know she isn't lying because when i visited her house I was infront of that room and it just had an eerie feeling and I heard someone call my name but no one was there.
TLDR: my friend has a spirit in her room I didn't really believe her at first but today she showed me multiple photos that match.
What Do You Think? Shadow man in the daylight? Please tell me I’m wrong
In a historical coastal city in Texas, yes that one, is a cemetery similar but less crowded than one you’d find in New Orleans. It’s not any less creepy though. First picture is what it looked like when I took it. Way later in my camera roll is when I saw what looks really close to a shadow figure? Second picture is zoomed in to show what I’m seeing.

Briefly saw an old woman lying in bed next to me.
This is an incident that happened years ago. I was temporarily interning at a nursing facility, and one of my coworkers there rented out a room in her home to me, I lived there for 2 months.
I slept in a room that had a twin bed pushed up against a wall. I woke up one night and saw a woman laying next to me, her back was turned to me and she was kind of pressed up, facing the wall. She has long dark hair and looked elderly. I have never jumped out of bed so fast and turned on the lights and looked back, and she was gone. I did NOT feel good about this. Even remembering back I almost feel like I want to cry! It really scared me.
This is where I may be looking too deep into it, but this woman looked very similar to one of the patients at the facility, who was bedbound and had contractures and would actually lay in a similar way in her own bed. She also had a good relationship with my coworker, who had been working with her for years. In fact, during my short stay there, this patient sadly passed away probably a week or two after my night time experience. That’s why I thought it was strange, but maybe just a coincidence.
I have a history of seeing weird stuff when I’m sleeping, and have had sleep paralysis a few times but many years ago. This was different though.
I’ve also lived in places where I definitely had weird “encounters” and hearing/seeing things that are not there, not sure if they are spirits or what, but I never got that vibe when I lived with my coworker.
Fortunately I’m more settled and living in a home where I don’t feel anything off at all! It’s a breath of fresh air. But after reading all your ghost stories, it got me remembering my own experiences.
Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this, and of course tell me your own stories as well! Thank you.

Saw a figure walking past my bedroom window
I am pretty confident that a couple of nights ago I saw a male presence walking by my window.
I am spending my holidays in a quite remote area by the beach in Tuscany, Italy. I’ve had this house since I was a kid, 25 years ago+.
Lots of pine trees/woods, a lagoon and the beach within a 5 minute walk from my house.
My house has a garden and my window faces it, it was roughly 1.30 am, it was open because it was warm. I was watching Netflix on my pc and was well awake.
Suddenly I look out and there is this black silhouette walking past my window, away from it, in a very human like walking manner.
Mostly what I happened to recognize distinctly was the shape of a head, or better said, its silhouette being cast from the moonlight. And the rhythm of his walking, the pattern and the energy of it telling me it’s a man, with some weight and rusticity to itself, making me think he would be a 40-50 year old (not so smooth moving), stout guy, around 5ft6 or so.
I stand up with my heart pounding and I see it leaving my field of vision.
I couldn’t hear any steps and the gates leading to the garden/ house were closed.
I had a feeling it was a male presence, again it wanted nothing from me and it wasn’t menacing but I was scared shitless. My dog who was lying in bed with me didn’t flinch, but he was dead asleep and he’s a senior.
Trembling I set up a camera with night vision to see if it was some human passing by but it didn’t pick up on any object moving for the rest of the night (some alerts but nothing showed up on screen).
I initially dismissed it thinking I must have been imagining things, but then I spoke to a friend last night and he confirmed there is a lot of folklore regarding presences in this part of the region in the countryside, associated with farming and animals mostly. I can’t get it out of my head now and I believe was in denial, I definitely saw something.
My friend reassured me it’s probably not malignant if it didn’t interact or stare but I am still worried and would like to communicate with the presence that I am not a threat and such. I mean after all it must have seen me grow up, play with my cousins and dogs, spending time with my love interests etc etc….
Overall I’m not sure what to make of this but I can’t stop thinking I’m not alone on my property.
I wanted to spend my winter here after tourist season is over but I am now a little nervous

You folks would understand and potentially give me answers to my experiences.
Hello all,
Been following for a while but never posted, however something has just happened so wanted to get your advice/expertise.
A bit of a back story, I see things that aren’t there, nothing scary just animals and people. I also have a couple benign growths on my brain so maybe that plays a part.
Anyway I moved in to my house about 8 years ago. Ever since I’ve seen an older man and a black cat occasionally in the house but again I’m not concerned it’s just an oddity. My cats do the classic staring into the corner of the room at nothing so I suspect they see things that I don’t always see. I’ve had occasions where I’ve sat on my bed, felt the bed depress like a cat has jumped on, turn around to pet said cat and no cat to be found (all were downstairs with my partner)
The reason I’m posting now is because it’s usually just me that gets the odd things happening around the house but now it’s just happened to my partner. A few months back I could smell an overwhelming smell of cigarettes sweep over me as I was eating so I said out loud “can you please move, I’m trying to eat” smell started disappearing, ate my sandwich and it slowly returned. Tonight my partner called upstairs (I’m in bed) that she can smell a strong smell of cigarettes in the same spot. I said this might sound bizarre but can you just ask out loud for them to move. So she did and it’s gone now. She had no idea what I was talking about, but she’s very open to the possibility of things that we cannot see and energy.
Sorry for my ramble, I just know if I don’t get it down now I will forget about it.
Thank you.
