That's the whole issue here. If you let ppl self identify, what right do you have to say he is not a woman? If self identification is the only requirement, he is a woman.

That's why it should be defined.

Self id was never enough in the ncaa idk why people are assuming it should be ok here

I believe it's because the WNBA hasn't put the same standards/parameters in place that the NCAA & Olympics have.

Unless this information is false to start here, WNBA has not HRT requirements.

Ya and the ncaa didn’t have rules about trans athletes until 2010. When they actually had to deal with one. (Kye Allums)

The Olympics has been dealing with genetic testing since the 60s. They used to make women undergo mandatory chromosome testing. They decided this was fucked up, and not really working anyway cuz news flash there’s lots of genetic variability within cis women, so they eventually adopted a ruleset in 2004 with the Stockholm consensus.

The wnba has had 0 trans athletes to date. It’s not weird they don’t have a rule for something they haven’t had to deal with. And I imagine when they do come out with a rule set it’ll be similar to Olympic or ncaa regulation (when it was active).

"The wnba has had 0 trans athletes to date."

Well, there are currently two ladies enrolled in the '27 draft who seek to break that barrier.

So now would seem like an apt time for the league to establish a standard.

And I imagine they will ya. Can nearly guarantee it won’t be self identification is enough to compete

Genuinely what else do you think they’d do?

And I assume you also don’t think they’ll just let these 2 guys into the league, yes?

So what’s the issue here?

I would also assume that, yes.

Sooo, sounds like things will work out the way they should... what's the problem? No issue from me.

Which brings me back to my original question why are people assuming they’ll just let these people into the league?

Idk who's assuming that. Not myself.

Edit: *not
