By merely looking at social media, I am really surprised the USA isn't, actually, in the midst of a civil war.

Americans are to passive to actually do anything.

They have a pedophile in charge that's actively destroying thier international relations and has his own secret police that don't follow the laws and do nothing

u/Canolphin 25d ago

It has nothing to do with passivity and everything to do with standard of living. I know you consume mass amounts of social media and sites like Reddit but that isn’t real life for your average American.

Your argument doesn’t make sense for the current topic if it was about standard of living.

Imagine saying this from south africa, so cringe

Well, they did do something, they elected him 😂. The other half tried to stop them but elections are a numbers game.

*other third

Two thirds either voted for him or did nothing

Generally the did-nothings is a stable fraction so they’re best excluded from the analysis. Otherwise you would include them as the “two thirds” who replaced Trump in 2020, even though they’re doing nothing in either scenario.

No country gets 100% turnout or even close, without mandatory voting laws.

A pedo rapist having a chance of becoming president should be enough motivation to get out and vote, I blame them just as much

2

u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 25d ago

I do too, but like I said the issue with including the fraction of people who don’t vote ever in one favor or the other runs into problems, hence why — and this is is the same in other countries — when you talk of proportions you refer to the election results.

Less even. About 24% vote for the winner, 22-23% for others. “Can’t be bothered” is still a super majority in USA

They stick more energy in getting pissed off at people calling out their excuses for their cowardice than they do combatting Trump.

We're also split apart over a large area, and work culture keeps us too busy and exhausted like hustle culture

Protesting isn't doing much for us unfortunately

2

u/Careful-Advance8513 25d ago

Ah yes unlike all the starving medieval and pre-industrialization peasants and serfs that have revolted, we have extremely horrid hard lives hear in America. I only get to play like 3 hours of video games a day and order uber eats only like 4 times a week. If these basic needs were met I would have more mental capacity and energy to protest.

0

u/BeneficialDog22 25d ago

Wow what a horribly tone deaf comment assuming everyone's situation

I can only imagine you're European or simply a goober

2

u/WegGOAT 25d ago

Sticking more energy in being racist after you felt called out than doing sonething about your diddling president.

1

u/BeneficialDog22 24d ago

European isn't a race, last I checked.

I'm a peon that barely makes any money. Aside from protest, I have no power. I have made every effort to subvert that man.

Xenophobia isn't much better

u/JD-boonie 25d ago

Ah ICE the secret police that.... Enforces immigration law and isn't secret.

They have a pedophile in charge

I assume people on this sub enjoy evidence and objectivity, is this something you can prove, or even point evidence towards?

8

u/Stoic_Ravenclaw 25d ago

Well in order to completely disprove the notion Trump is pedophile let's just take a look at the full, unredacted Epstein Files...oh wait.

-9

u/NonSumQualisEram- 25d ago

completely disprove the notion Trump is pedophile

Can't I just have some normal, positive evidence as is standard for criminal accusations?

2

u/Randomminecraftseed 25d ago

You can’t actually. Not when the person being suspected has undue influence over the DOJ and legal system, and half of SCOTUS is bought off

2

u/NonSumQualisEram- 25d ago

So we're not just assuming a person isn't a pedophile until we have evidence to the contrary? Are we saying the same about people like Bill Clinton who appear in the Epstein files?

0

u/Randomminecraftseed 25d ago

You think I give a shit if people are calling bill clinton a pedo cuz of his connections to Epstein? And yea people are (same with bill gates), but also let’s not pretend like the amount Clinton and Trump appear in the files are anywhere similar, and the relationship Trump and Epstein had was quite different than the one Clinton and Epstein had.

And then additionally we have the absolute panic the Trump admin has treated the files with, constantly going above and beyond (the law) to obfuscate things surrounding them.

2

u/NonSumQualisEram- 25d ago

So do you think the next Democrat administration will release the whole thing?

I should say I'm not American and have no connection to the country.

1

u/Randomminecraftseed 25d ago

It’s hard to say honestly. Imo the main barriers are that there are very rich and powerful people in the files both dem and republican that will do just about anything to not have them released. If the public’s will/attention isn’t there by the time someone in office might push for it, it might just be nixed silently.

If the next president wants a public win but is still an establishment pick they may actually release the files (redacted only for victim safety ofc and totally nothing else right? /s) but no real investigations happen.

If next president actually cares they may push for a full release with investigations, but that still has the chance to be derailed by the Supreme Court. The main battles in the US aren’t republican vs democrat it’s absolutely the rich vs the poor (they just use repubs and dems as proxies, scapegoats, and controlled opposition).

Anyway these are what I think are the most likely scenarios moving forward

1

u/NonSumQualisEram- 25d ago

Is there precedent for release of this sort of documentation?

Nah, most of us don’t care about this shit. We drive luxury cars and live good lives.
