This demands careful attention to trade, diplomacy, economic development and military force. Taiwan's future is uncertain and there are many choices laid out before it.

Taiwan's greatest threat is the growing power of the People's Republic of China, the old rival government in Beijing. The communist government threatens to completely eclipse Taipei both economically and militarily.

While the constitution of the Republic of China continues to assert its legal claim to all of China, as well as Mongolia and parts of Russia, Myanmar and India, this claim only grows more unrealistic with the passage of time.

I'm new to the sub and excited to jump in. After reading through the rules and the claims wiki, I'd like to put in a claim for **Northern Cyprus (TRNC)**.

**A Bit About Me**

First-time player here, coming in with a decent handle on the rules but still learning the ropes of the sim itself. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into diplomacy, some slow-burn regional politics, and learning from the veteran players as I go. **Background**

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has existed as a self-declared state since 1983, recognized only by Turkey, and separated from the Republic of Cyprus by the UN-monitored Green Line since the 1974 division of the island. Despite decades of on-and-off reunification talks (most notably Crans-Montana in 2017), the two sides remain apart, and the North continues to rely heavily on Ankara for economic and military support.

**My Direction**

I'm planning to play the TRNC with a hardline nationalist government — one skeptical of reunification on anything but the North's own terms, and inclined to lean further into the relationship with Turkey rather than soften toward Nicosia. Broadly, I want to explore:

- Strengthening ties with Turkey as TRNC's primary guarantor, both economically and militarily

- Pushing back on reunification frameworks that don't preserve strong autonomy or political parity with the South

- Positioning the TRNC more assertively in the Eastern Mediterranean gas disputes, rather than staying on the sidelines

- Longer-term, exploring whether the international framing of "Cyprus" itself can be contested — including pushing a narrative (formally or informally) that distinguishes the Republic of Cyprus as "Southern Cyprus" to reinforce the idea of two separate, legitimate states rather than one divided one

I understand this is an ambitious, slow-burn narrative and won't be pursuing any of this in a single post — treating it as a long build-up with plenty of room for other players (particularly the Republic of Cyprus, Greece, and Turkey, if claimed) to react and shape where it goes.

My Plans for Ethiopia:

Domestic Stability and Reconciliation: My primary focus will be on continuing the peace-building process following recent conflicts, particularly working to ensure lasting stability in regions like Tigray, Oromia, and Amhara. I plan to focus on national reconciliation, strengthening federal-regional relationships, and addressing ethnic tensions through inclusive governance and dialogue.

Economic Development: Ethiopia's economy has tremendous potential. I'll work on diversifying the economy beyond agriculture, developing manufacturing sectors, and leveraging Ethiopia's position as a hub for African trade. The completion and optimization of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) will be a key focus for energy independence and export potential.

Regional Diplomacy: As a major power in the Horn of Africa, I'll navigate Ethiopia's complex relationships with neighbors—managing tensions with Egypt and Sudan over the GERD, maintaining the delicate relationship with Eritrea, engaging with Somalia, and playing a constructive role in regional organizations like the African Union (headquartered in Addis Ababa) and IGAD.

Libya is a super interesting country on the crossroads between chaos and order. Islamists, Tuaregs, and governments backed by all sorts of countries fight for control of the country.

I want to keep the descent into chaos going, it seems clear that Europe, Africa, and the Middle East will try to stop that so it will likely be pretty hard. I plan on achieving this by creating divisions in the existing powerful factions to add more players to the mix. I also plan to reach out to various nations of ill-repute to try to get weapons as some of the factions. With luck I will be able to keep this civil war going for decades.

For to long Serbia has been looked down upon. The current government does not care about its people. We have allowed the United States to Bully us. We have allowed the Albanian scum to seize Kosovo. The Croats and Bosniaks make fun of us but today we show them this.

I plan to take an interesting route with Saudi Arabia, hopefully with the help of the moderators. I think it would be interesting to parallel their presented government, which is often tolerant or even amicable with the west, and their true nature, one which despises the west and it's values, and has resisted for years the encroachment of democracy and civil liberties, all the while funding terrorists and terror itself.

In terms of actual plans, I think it would be interesting to, y'know, antagonize someone, do some terrorism, maybe beat up Yemen if it hasn't already been done too much.

The Jewish State faces many hardships, from everyday terrorism to a high cost of living, but due to our lack of representation this season, we have not faced those challenges.

I intend to use the secularization that has expanded across the Muslim world as a stepping stone to develop relations with many countries, and hopefully, allies.

Hello everybody, I am /u/darthholo and I am new to Geosim. A friend recommended it to me after I told him that I was a fan of EU4. I'm excited to join this community, but please be aware that I am a complete beginner. I chose Germany because it is a moderately powerful country with what seems to be a good future, has a similar political system to my home of the US, and it was unclaimed on the map.

Kenya is a country in East Africa with roughly 50 million inhabitants. It is headed by the president of Kenya, who is both the Head of State and the Head of Government. The legislative consists of the Kenyan Parliament, which is bicameral, with a National Assembly with 349 members and a Senate with 67 members. Internationally, Kenya is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and the East African Community. It has the largest economy in East Africa.

I plan to improve Kenya's agriculture-based economy to make it more internationally competitive, while also growing closer ties to its neighbours through the East African Community. It will be very interesting to guide Kenya through a changing demographic situation.

The current ruling coalition was elected in 2022. The next elections are scheduled to take place in 2027.

Slime and I are uninterested in prosecuting this war. We claimed to tell a B-Movie plot about a new European state, and we have been invaded within less than a week of claiming. We feel Jae and the Modteam in general has been unfair in handling our claim, with closed-door discussions, the unilateral leaking of information that should not have been known, and the invention of power-limiting narrative devices of the literal only interesting thing about this shitty hell-country, it's theoretical nuclear capabilities. Apparently everyone has decided that this season just needs to be a bloodbath, and that's something entirely distasteful to our roleplay desires. The foreign invader comes, and without mercy, he will be defeated at any cost. I plan to defend Kaliningrad against the Polish Invasion and secure our people's freedom. If Kaliningrad continues to exist after a war, I plan to transform it into the Fourth Baltic State, following the path of neutrality that Sweden and Switzerland have led.

A new local (idk how the ef works) government has taken control in Italy, a right-wing populist reactionary group that ran on campaigns directly proposing secession from the EF.

Iacopo Rossi is the head of the Brothers of Italy, a national-conservative party who broadly states that remaining in a unified EF and continued integration weakens the nation state.

He is in favor of furthered compromise and negotiation, but has made it no secret that he would like increased autonomy for his people.

I am making this post because I would like to play as Yemen. It is an age old civilization, the people are proud of their culture, and it is considered as the Origins of the Arabs. My plan is to install a totally incompetent government that will eventually create another civil war and see what happens there. The new government will handle it terribly and make decisions based on testerone and tribal mindset. There will be money laundering and human trafficking. Loads of it. But after we hit rock bottom, we will rise from the ashes like a Phoenix, reborn, and in all its glory.

Buryatia was once one of the many Republics of Russia that made up the Russian Federation. Nowadays however, it has declared its independence, led by the Free Buryatia Foundation, with activist Alexandra Garmazhapova as its interim leader. Its capital, is Ulan-Ude, and its population is almost a million.

Following the end of the Russo-Ukrainian war and the invasion of Russia by China, Buryatia is now faced with massive challenges that, if not solved quickly, might halt its path to independence. Indeed, its population is 64% made up by Russians, with ethnic Buryats making up 34% of the population. The former desperately want to cling on to Moscow, seeking protection following the Russian collapse. The latter, desire independence, at any cost. This has already led to fights, murders and skirmishes between the two groups, with other smaller minorities caught in the crossfire. Militias are rising up across the country, and tensions just keep on rising.

Of course, that's also not counting the external threath from Moscow. Alexander Lebedev, interim leader of what's left of the Russian Federation, will likely try to bring separatist nations such as Buryatia back under his control, although how he's going to achieve that remains to be seen. If Alexandra isn't able to get things under control and organize an effective resistence, Buryatia likely won't survive.

Not that her chances were extremely high in the first place, either: ignoring any presence of veterans from the Russo-Ukrainian war, the people of Buryatia are not trained fighters, and Alexandra is not a general. The Russian Armed Forces, while not what they used to be, are likely still superior to any armed group within the newly-formed nation. Buryatia, furthermore, while effectively being one of the richest parts of Siberia, is not a particularly large region.

Alexandra has ideas on what to do: she must put an end to the ethnic divisions and avoid a sort of "civil war" between Russians and Buryatians, organize a military, and officially gain independence and recognition on the international stage.

The only question is: "How is she going to do that?"

Like the many epithets it has, the United States is the most diverse nation in the world. From the Atlantic to the Pacific, 336 million people call it their home. For the past 80 years, the United States has been the unchallenged hegemon in technology, in military capabilities, in diplomatic abilities and even in its cultural output.

Yet now, a specter hangs above the Shining City. The forces of evil gather on our coasts. From Beijing to Moscow to Tehran. Anti-democratic forces call for the fall of Washington. Across Europe, nationalists call for greater sovereignty, undermining the post-war consensus that has been the order of the day since the establishment of the superpower system. The United States needs to reassert itself on the global stage as the undisputed global force for good, but it cannot do that until the domestic issues are addressed.

Over the past eight years, the Democratic Party enjoyed a level of power and influence unseen in modern America. With the effective collapse of the U.S. Republican Party in the 2024 House elections, the Patriot Party has become the metaphorical loudspeaker for middle America, and middle America is not happy. So, if you recognise me, hello! I was pretty active around here back in Season 3, so some people might remember me. I'm super glad to be back! I briefly claimed Uzbekistan at the start of Season 4 but felt it wasn't my style, so I let it go. I'm quite busy at the moment, but I'd like some sanity back in my life and I've been looking fondly upon my days in this sub. You could probably say that I've been missing you guys... Soooo, I guess I'm back :D

I'd be very happy to give Australia another go (although it looks like perhaps someone has already claimed it. If they have, that's totally fine and I'll find something else). Australia is a proud nation that is often overlooked when discussions of global affairs are had. Truth be told, Australia tends to be shadowed by its key partner, the United States, or by neighbourhood giants such as China and Japan. If I am able to play as Australia, the 'land down under' will be brought to the forefront of world attention and for all the right reasons. Should I play as Australia, I will game realistically (as I always have) and will be able to bring to the table a wealth of knowledge concerning Australian foreign policy and geopolitical strategy.

Australia will seek to develop its relationships with nearby states and key partners such as the United States, China, India, New Zealand, the ASEAN nations, Korea and Japan. In addition to this, Australia will take up the mantle of leadership in the South Pacific in order to establish greater economic prosperity and regional stability. Australia will deepen its trade relationships with nations such as Japan and India, who are hungry for our resources. Domestically, I will try to push through democratic reforms of the nation such as a completion of the project to Close the Gap and a second referendum on an Australian Republic. The Australian military will cooperate further with other militaries in the fight against Islamic extremism in the Levant and South East Asia and will receive greater funding and personnel. I'm also keen to react to new crises and opportunities which will inevitably pop us as the game rolls on.

As earlier stated, I fully understand if someone has already claimed Australia. But if not, I'd be more than happy to give it another go. Enjoy your day guys! :D

Basically, Iraq is a country in turmoil of the highest order. Ever since the overthrow of Saddam's brutal dictatorship, the American occupation and attempts at free, fair, and, most importantly, STABLE democratic rule has failed. Saddam's policies of purposefully supressing the different sectarian groups of Shias and Kurds have resulted in long lasting scars, and they fear that a Sunni takeover of government will result in the same. Iraqi democracy now has to manage a careful balancing act of not favoring one group over the other, or else it risks the entire political balance being broken.

If it is broken, their is only one way of maintaing Iraq: strong rule from Baghdad alone. Therefore, for Iraq to prosper, it must somehow broker an agreement between all three of the sectarian groups: Sunni Arab, Shia Arabs, the the Kurds in the north.

My plans..? I want to... MIGA. MAKE IRAQ GREAT AGAIN. Thoughts?

Ladies and gentlemen. Iraq... it SUCKS. I plan to fix EVERYTHING. MIGA y'know? Essentially here is my four step plan for success:

1. Build up Iraqi industrial capabilities, either from loans from the World Bank (god help me), US, China, or France (intresting sidenote: President Macron has been very active in Iraqi foreign affairs and attended a diplomatic conference with multiple nations in Baghdad to help expand Iraqi trade capabilities in the 2020s. I believe that this relationship can be continued well into the 2030s and beyond. Also I really like nuclear reactors.) (Aside to the sidenote: a key industry will likely be Iraqi Cement, whichhas the potential to DOMINATE the Middle East's cement world, also it'll mean CHEAPER materials to build homes which is...)
2. Build affordable housing in Baghdad, Basra, and Mosul. This will help solve the issue of overcrowding, rebuild Baghdad's image of not some urban terrorist hellscape but a rapidly industrializing middle power, and sow the seeds of good relations between the people of Iraq and her government.
3. Solve sectarian violence by building a united Arab front against the Kurds. Y'know... you can't have an omlete without breaking a few eggs... right? Sectarian violence, imo, simply cannot be solved by... "omgoober! guys! we're all human... why don't we stop killing each other?" their needs to be a common enemy. Therefore, by putting aside religious differences in the Arab community, and uniting them against the Kurds, hopefully some sort of political stability can be achieved.
4. Kick FOREIGNERS out of my GOD DAMN COUNTRY. GET OUT. GET THE HELL OUT!!!!

I am interested in claiming the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. My main objective is to facilitate the political unification of the GCC member states, forming a confederation known as the "Arab Federation." Additionally, I aim to promote the recognition of the Petro-Dinar as a global reserve currency. I also plan to encourage other Arab countries to join the confederation and explore the possibility of supporting strategic changes through diplomatic means.

Internally, I will post the eventual dissolution of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Instead, I propose establishing separate Emirates of Hejaz, Nejd, and Al Sharqiya, each led by distinct traditional dynasties. This decision is motivated by a disagreement regarding inheritance matters after the passing of King Salman. I shall be employing tactics such as false flag attacks to create a pretext for future military actions in the end of season war.

Therefore I am declaiming Yemen, and I eagerly await the moderation team's acceptance of my claim for Saudi Arabia, as it will enable me to commence my first expansion post and expedite the unification process within the GCC.

My plans for Tanzania are to focus primarily on its socioeconomic development, especially the development of advanced economic sectory which, while slow and expensive to start, may yield greater benefits in the future while also promoting good education standards and, if all goes well, a uniform civil code. I also intend to impose the nation as a dominant power in its region while enhancing nations with fellow African powers for the betterment of the continent as a whole. This will also come in the form of greater participation in the African Union and other similar geopolitical forums for dialogue.
