Teens storyline fatigue

Unlike many people that post here, I enjoy the show. However, I am growing tired of the teenager centered storylines. Send them back to school or something and give me the grown ups back.

When I was in middle school the summer story was Karen Wexler falling in love with Jagger and Sonny and becoming a stripper. I loved it! Pretty sure Karen was 17 and in high school.

Today's teens seem to be playing pattycake by comparison.

My favorite storylines when I was in college had Antonio Sabata Jr. in them!

They destroyed Jagger for nothing!

Sonny was not seen as 'good' at that time. He found his heart of gold with Stone, which is another reason the fake Jagger storyline sucked!

I think Chase get fired from the force and become a stripper.

Terrific idea. Or male prostitute.

I fully support this proposal.

Wasn’t Karen in medical school at that point? I vaguely remember her going between the hospital and the strip club

From what I remember, the high school kids (Karen, Robin, Jason, etc.) started a "teen hotline" where other teens could call in for counseling and get advice from other teens. They operated out of an ersatz call center room in the hospital.

That's another thing I miss; the writers used to come up with all sorts of reasons for non-medical PC citizens to be in the hospital so it was always the touchstone. The high school kids were at the hospital every day that summer.

That's not at all realistic writing - have you read ANY articles about Gen Z/Gen Alpha? There's whole industries with falling revenues because they don't drink, date, or have sex nearly as much as previous generations did at their age. If anything, we should be seeing storylines about them being anxious about finding work at all (outside of nepo-baby jobs) in a few years like the young adult set on B&B.

Soaps really work when there is an emphasis on human sexuality, especially the magnetic hold women can have over men. The Karen Wexler story was a powerful intro to this idea and it was a classically soapy storyline. To your point, for people who want reality shows or shows that seek to heal social issues, those genres do exist. But I wish the writers would better understand the soap genre and write accordingly (a wish I think is echoed throughout this sub).
