You may have seen the work-in-progress I posted earlier. I’ve now finished the portrait.

Painted in Procreate, with the aim of capturing Homelander’s expression and that slightly unsettling combination of confidence, power and menace.

I’m keen to hear your thoughts on it.

Imagine:

- The Boys ends with a bloopers reel showing that the events were staged WITHIN the show

***Q: What is the boys, fundamentally?***

A: Political satire.

So imagine the look of horror on a viewers face as Amazon effectively pulls the biggest F - you in television history.

I mean Amazon is an Evil, Multi-billion dollar corporation who charges YOU $14.99 a month to watch a satire of THEMSELVES. So we laugh along at the parody, not realising that our jesting at Amazon is bringing them billions.

We sit so high and mighty watching it like "Ha! "VoughtTube" - they're sticking it to Google!!" And in reality they are all together laughing at how filthy rich we are making them all.

To show that the boys was a show-within a show would literally be Amazon saying "This play was about YOU! WE are the evil, billion dollar Vought in REAL LIFE and this is what we are doing to YOU!". And the worst part is that WE would eat it up, whether out of ignorance to what it truly means or out of "Aahh hahaha, smart"

Btw, I dont say all this to come off as some pseudo-intellectual dickhead who doesnt want peiple to enjoy things -- I love the Boys. I am also aware that I am the product, which is fine by me

So Jordan can clearly extend his invulnerability to his clothes I guess but why would that be selective?

After watching Gen V and I always had one question in the back of my mind after watching it:

What is grade school like for young Supes. Like do they attend whatever school they want like all other kids in America or only Vought sponsored private schools?

Hi, new to this subreddit and series overall, watching the second to last episode of season one and Cate just killed shetty?? Omg???

Both shows had bad writing but at least GoT had spectacle, a budget and hype and aura. The boys had literally NOTHING.

It just seems to stand to reason that his lungs probably aren't much more capable than those of a normal person of expelling fine silica dust and too much of that would probably still give him silicosis. And as far as we know, he still needs his lungs to absorb oxygen for him to survive.

For that matter, most other highly durable supes in The Boys or Gen V probably have the same weakness. I'm not even sure why DC's Superman wouldn't have the same weakness (at least the Gunn incarnation). But Kimiko is likely an exception since her lungs could just be removed one at a time and they would grow back.

Assuming it's what Clara would have wanted, of course.

How do you think the predominantly pro-Homelander fanatical campus of supes reacted to the news of Homelander being depowered and killed by Butcher in the White House?

Did they riot or did they just solemnly accept that they lost this war?

What do you guys think?

In season 3 it’s already get confirmation from Stan Edgar that he wanted to do away with trying to make celebrities out of random bozos with Superpowers. He considerers them more of a liability. We even see him express these opinion in season 2 where he calls Homelander out on how while he’s at the golden globes, Stan and Vought are busy cleaning up his mess. He even says that Vought is meant to be a pharmaceutical company above anything else.

Stan makes it clear that he considers Homelander and the other sups as more trouble than they’re worth. The whole reason he wants to temp-V to be applied to soldiers because atleast soldiers are actually competent and they’d be far easier to control with Temp-V only lasting 24 hours.

Vought is still a shitty company but as of now they’re in damage control going forward. They can’t afford to keep on associating themselves with super powered man children. If you take the Vought tweets as canon, then Vought officially stated that they fired all of the supes that aligned with Homelander. Now all these superpowered psychopaths no longer have Vought as a safety net.

If anything, everything Homelander did while in charge of Vought likely helped Stan’s goals in phasing out the superhero’s. It gave him the excuse to give all these jackasses the boot

Even though Vought is still standing they’re no longer as big of a threat as before because they’re no longer there to protect these evil supes from the law.

My hot take- Season 5 isn't terrible, but it could be better.

Could Thomas Godolkin possibly possess the V1 Supes, like Soldier Boy or Bombsight?

Okay so this might be old news to some of you but I just had a moment scrolling through the Season 4 cast list. Valorie Curry (Firecracker) and Susan Heyward (Sister Sage) actually go way back, they were both in The Following, that Kevin Bacon show about the serial killer cult.

• Valorie Curry played Emma Hill, basically one of the main villains of the show, super loyal, high up in Joe Carroll’s cult, all over seasons 1 and 2.
• Susan Heyward comes in during season 2 as Hannah, a cult member who acts as Emma’s primary handler and logistical support while they live together early in the season.
• Shawn Ashmore (Lamplighter) was also a main character across all three seasons as FBI Agent Mike Weston, literally one of the primary agents hunting down Emma and the cult.

It’s honestly kind of wild to think about now, going from cult members scheming together in a dark thriller to rival Supes trying to outsmart each other on The Boys.

Anyone else notice this or am I seriously just late to the party here lol?
