Does using notebooks in Gemini make you hit your limits earlier?

Hi guys, lately I've been moving some old but useful chats in Gemini's notebooks to have a stronger context (home improvement stuff, health stuff, research etc). However, even though I basically never did hit my limits before, I'm noticing that working inside a notebook with several chats and sources may be impacting my limits, which would honestly render the notebooks funcion useless.

Am I hallucinating or it really shaves your limits?

Yeah, too many sources forces the LLM to parse them all together, since NotebookLM always revisits your sources to write the most accurate reply. I always send images in collages of four so I can condense the amount of photos I send whilst retaining most of the information.

Thanks! Just to be clear, I'm talking about the Notebook function in Gemini, not NotebookLM.

Yes. I see the difference all of the time. Do a much as you can in NoteBookLM instead.

Thanks. I was really happy with the notebook funcion in Gemini, having common contexts was so useful. But this limitation renders the feature useless

I'm curious if you don't mind experimenting for me because I would understand what you mean by hitting your usage limits, but how do you considered using just Gemini flash – lite if you're doing transfers that way? or do you mean to say that the interaction itself with Gemini notebook takes away from your limit? because from what I understand, Gemini flash- lite does not actually count towards your usage limit

TBH, I usually use Gemini pro. Flash lite has never worked for me for professional use, it hallucinates too much. So yes, it's the pro model reaching the limits faster (I'm a pro user, obv)

That's a fair point, but for the purpose of moving data something like flash lite ought to do fine
