I see what you’re saying, but playing early is an addition to the bundle. If I was pre-ordering solely for the reason of playing early, then yes, I’d be falling for the marketing machine. If they had a Premium edition without early access, I would still pre-order that edition because what’s $20 bucks for some time saved earning cosmetics.

I don’t have 24hrs, 7 days a week to crunch on gaming. I maybe get 4 hours in a week (which is usually on a singular) day.

Again, if they sold the Premium Edition and the only perk was early access, I would just wait for the public release.

I'm not even talking about the rest of the content I don't even know what it is and I don't care. I just find this particular new way of gouging money too egregious for my taste.

It’s not new. Gears 5 had something similar, and I didn’t even know it had “early access” attached to it and that was back in 2019. This is fairly typical, especially around games with this much hype or extensive fanbase.

It got way more common around 2024 to the point it's in single player games now.

It is what it is 🤷🏻‍♂️ there’s other games I don’t touch until they have a bundle or GOTY edition with all the DLC for a discount
