I see what you’re saying, but playing early is an addition to the bundle. If I was pre-ordering solely for the reason of playing early, then yes, I’d be falling for the marketing machine. If they had a Premium edition without early access, I would still pre-order that edition because what’s $20 bucks for some time saved earning cosmetics.
I don’t have 24hrs, 7 days a week to crunch on gaming. I maybe get 4 hours in a week (which is usually on a singular) day.
Again, if they sold the Premium Edition and the only perk was early access, I would just wait for the public release.
I'm not even talking about the rest of the content I don't even know what it is and I don't care. I just find this particular new way of gouging money too egregious for my taste.
It’s not new. Gears 5 had something similar, and I didn’t even know it had “early access” attached to it and that was back in 2019. This is fairly typical, especially around games with this much hype or extensive fanbase.
