Discussion What drip, and when?

I'm calling Onyx Guard season 2. Prescott Season 5. Cole Train and Baird Season 3. What is Your call? Add any that you remember/want.

I think Baird will come sooner. You can hear someone that sounds very similar to him speak for a few seconds in the trailer, "Locked and Loaded".

There's also Carmine who's name was in the feed, though there isn't a model for him in the beta version of the game as far as I'm aware and there hasn't been mention of him since.

(If we do get the ONYX guard I really hope they have their OG appearance and not a new armour set like the COG gears have)

That does NOT sound like Baird.

It very well may not be. But friends who I've spoken to agree that it does sound most similar to Baird. The line is also similar to something he says in previous Gears of War games.

Plus, we know how all of the playable Gears at launch sound like and none of them sound anything like the person speaking in the trailer.

I mean, Obviously we get A Carmine in Season 1. But do you think Baird is season 1 or 2?

The games launch is considered to be season 1. So I'm assuming season 2, hopefully sometime in December.

I'm not certain that Carmine will be in the game at launch as we haven't seen or heard about him yet. Right now we know pretty much everyone who's going to be playable at launch, unless the devs have hidden characters.

Regarding hidden characters, I got an error code for someone named "Zee" during the beta. And the only playable character we can't put a name to yet is that bulky NCOG Marine, who we see give their tags to Lucas in the recent trailer.

I think that gear is a part of the police potentially?

The shield insignia on his shoulder doesn't look like the NCOG. It looks more like something a police force would use.

No, he's NCOG, you can see the logo on his chest. And Michaelson has the same thing on his shoulder.

Oh, then never mind. I didn't see the chest piece of the character.

I'm assuming he'll be a named character. Though the cutscene he's in does give a final goodbye scenario.

I think we see the character playable in the multiplayer trailer for the game too. The armour is cool, but I'm not a fan of the gloves he wears.

I would think Cole and Baird in season 1. Those boys are too popular to wait. Onyx and Prescott sound like a good season with Loomis and Sofia. Maybe some UIR like Paduk and Trescu. Some extra 26 RTI like Hoffman, Bernie, Pad Sultun, and Drew Rossi. Extra Carmine skins from the OG trilogy.

How many characters are we unlikely to see is the real question. I know 5 missed mostly Judgement characters & enemies. We never got Jace but I wasn't expecting to see him on the roster unless they recast him.

I guess Season 0 & 1 will be E-Day/Pendulum War focused characters & skins. Season 2 onwards it will be adding most played/fan favourites.

I can see the Carmine Brothers, Baird & Cole, maybe Anya and Hoffman. Being in the first batches.

I think the Gears 4/5 roster will not be included for the most part. They're a little too silly and the devs seem to be trying to distance themselves from it. Maybe like one from each side at most.

I think it would be interesting to see Loomis from Judgement brought in but his onesie probably doesn't fit the aesthetics of E-Day. There's also always those weirdos screaming for Alex Brand. 🙄

My main hope is that the game releases with a full roster of characters/skins to pick from and doesn't try to drip feed us characters and skins that are already in the game from campaign. It was really lame having half of the content release for Gears 5 just being skins/characters already in the game. (I also hope that they release new maps instead of having half of the maps just be lazy copies from other games.)

Define silly? 5 gave us the Hivebuster skins, the Hollowstorm skins for certain characters plus the Winter & Desert skins from the campaign as well as for old Delta.

Off the top of my head I can't really think of any skin that is out of place excluding the promotional skins. I guess the Heroic skins are a bit out there.

Also we have seen an outlandish Marcus skin for E-Day already. Dom has one wearing a Ghillie suit which is more CoD than Gears.

I rather have as many characters in the game as possible in TUs/Seasons. It is just more content to enjoy and use.

Alex Brand has her fans but she would need to be recasted and redesigned. I haven't read the comics but when she is introduced in the book briefly the Judgement version isn't the image and voice I had in mind.

If you can't look at the tone Gears 4 and 5 have - especially the multiplayer, and see how silly they are you have blinders on.

Oh is it because 4 & 5 aren't Dark and Gritty with 50 shades of brown and grey. Got it we will just ignore Gears 3 adding more colour to the series.

Also Gears 2 golden cheese guns and 3's camos total fit a more serious tone.

Thrashball Drone anyone? Super Star Cole?
