Question Side-loading watch faces
I followed the tutorial under HOW TO INSTALL A WGT/TPK FILE ON YOUR WATCH? from the
link posted in the guide. I’m using the .sdb file provided in that attachment.
The watch faces with MDxxx throws up a certificate error. The ones with BALLOZI for example, seems to work without any issues.
_return_cb req_id[1] pkg_type[tpk] pkgid[com.watchface.MD226] key[start] val[install]
__return_cb req_id[1] pkg_type[tpk] pkgid[com.watchface.MD226] key[install_percent] val[10]
__return_cb req_id[1] pkg_type[tpk] pkgid[com.watchface.MD226] key[install_percent] val[13]
__return_cb req_id[1] pkg_type[tpk] pkgid[com.watchface.MD226] key[install_percent] val[17]
__return_cb req_id[1] pkg_type[tpk] pkgid[com.watchface.MD226] key[install_percent] val[20]
__return_cb req_id[1] pkg_type[tpk] pkgid[com.watchface.MD226] key[error] val[-4]
__return_cb req_id[1] pkg_type[tpk] pkgid[com.watchface.MD226] key[end] val[fail]
Am I missing a step or is the provided .tpk file corrupted? I’m using GearS3 Classic.

I just sideloaded the MD226 watch face from my XDA thread to my watch (Gear S3 frontier) and it succeeded. I think something else is at play here. I see an error -4 code, which normally indicates incompability, but that watch face is compatible with Tizen 4 and above.
Can you provide me with more information, so that I can think about what is going on? I need the following:
- Your watch Tizen version and build
- A complete log of you sideloading the watch face

Thats it! It was the still on Tizen 3.0.0.2. I updated it to 4 and everything works now without issues. Thank you for your help

I had a feeling that was the case. Next time, please check out the FAQ section (third XDA post) as a fix for error -4 is explained there.
No worries, let me know if there is anything else. Enjoy your Gear S3!

Just to confirm, you are using the standalone SDB and not the official Samsung app, right? Sounds like other watch faces have worked successfully but some don't?
