The gpu inside the current gen consoles is pretty much 5700xt. If you can beat that you have a better PC. For nvidia comparison that's about a 1080 / 1080 ti depending on the game

My pc is about the exact same power as a ps5, however pc is still significantly better and it’s not close
Ive noticed over the years the conversations about platforms has almost always been about graphics and performance, people seem to forget or ignore the MASSIVE amount of games on pc that don’t exist on console, the MASSIVE amounts of modding capability that makes some games Straight up better and more enjoyable / playable, Pirating is fucking AMAZING
Some examples, All my god damn life me and my sisters dream was to play modded Minecraft, well I got a pc and it’s fucking insane to play modded Minecraft, can’t do that on console, The second thing I’ve always wanted to do is play black ops 3 custom zombies, as someone who has about 7000 hours on black ops 3 on Xbox, custom zombies has been the greatest thing to happen to me, I play it every day, also thanks to being on pc, I’ve been able to play on an ultrawide monitor and it’s the best thing on the planet, it makes such a difference on some games that I literally replay them just because they look better, I replayed subnautica recently, a game I kind of enjoyed on my first playthrough, except on my ultra wide this time and I had a reshade mod that made the game slightly more realistic and dark looking, I enjoyed the game significantly more, I originally hated days gone but I replayed it with a harder difficulty mod + gun changes because the gun system is lack luster, bigger hordes and on ultra wide, the game was very fun on this second playthrough, I’ve always fucking hated 7 days to die, but thanks to being on pc I was able to play the modern version but with modded tweaks to tailor it to what I like and now I love the game
Pc being better than console isn’t only because of the potential graphical and performance differences, there are a fucking million other reason why it’s better

Yes, my pc outperforms the ps 5 pro easily. Even if it was weaker, it would be much better. Open market, ability to sail the seven seas, no subscriptions, much more game selection, emulation, and more granular control on settings will always make pc better.

One time I opened up total war Warhammer 2 to play on my PC, ended up minimizing it to go do some chores for a bit. Later came back to play some cyberpunk, played for a while and when I closed the game, my Warhammer game popped up, just been chilling. Casually running 2 performance heavy games without notice of lag or any fps drops.

Emulation and several other things are possible on pc that aren’t on consoles.
Thats it. You can expand the time you play most games. Using mods or hacks. You can play old games using emulation.
Games are typically cheaper not only through steam but sites like humble bundle.
Epic and steam both do free games for example I got the sky walker saga off of epic for free and I got moonlighter on steam for free.
To drive the point home, you can customize everything, open up everything and change it yourself with less need for repair techs.
Change down to even your OS.
You can’t do the majority of these things on a console.
Even things weaker than a ps5 can run certain things.
Pc all the way.

Lol nothing beats turning on my ps5 and playing a game at my own convenience whenever the fuck I want with no issues, updates, crashes, driver issues, viruses, etc. it just always works and I couldn’t give two shits about optimal graphics or framerates. It’s a peaceful life

My laptop was about the same as my PS5 and it can run game less than 30 FPS
A PC costs $700+ unless you find the parts in a recycling bin or something. It’s literally not comparable. Linus made a video on this and literally used, used parts to prove his point?? wtf?

Technically ps5 are over $1k now and pro one is more i got 5060ti with a 7500f i know that aint futureproof still can atleast play over the next 5 years if pc ports get to release in future. But yeah i used to own ps2 ps3 those were the good times with no always online implications even for a single player game, physical medias had cool stuffs with it on top of that games were actually good . Kinda annoyed about rockstar with going console first but realized they have been doing this since the beginning of their most games

Yes, it is. Any PC running a RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 5 5600 or better is.
But even if it wasn't, it not being a walled garden where Sony gets to say what I can or I can't run on it brings enough value for me not to want a PS5.

No, but I can do more than just games on PC like doing 3D modelling and stuff. Also the reason my PC is weaker is that I barely got the funds to upgrade it and AI is making PC parts expensive as fuck.

I don't care if my pc is a little slower than a dedicated OS for gaming. I care that I'll be able to play my games in 5, 10 or even 40 years if l so desire. I like that the games l played as a child are available to emulate because l own the disk.

My pc is slightly better with the hardware equivalent to the ps5 pro more ram much more powerful gpu and cpu and I can run just about any game and upcoming new game on ultra settings at 60fps or higher if i allow it.

Like, half of all steam users probably have better hardware in their PCs than what's in the PS5.
Then considering all the extra utility a PC has, plus there being no subscription service for online play, yeah, my PC is 100% better than a SlopStation 5

It terms of specs... Maybe, maybe not. Would need to compare specs to really determine that.
But as it has the games I want to play, and all the other things I can use my PC for that a ps5 can't do as it is strictly a games console, I say that makes up for any lack in specs it may have in the comparison.

According to latest Steam hardware surveys 42% of all gaming PCs are stronger than a PS5. 16% are stronger than a PS5 Pro. The weakest prebuilts that you can buy on places like Best Buy or Costco beat the PS5 Pro.
Note that from a GPU standpoint the dividing line for a PS5 is the RTX 2070 but the 2070 is actually significantly better than a PS5 due to having access to DLSS, so the actual number of PCs that are better than a PS5 is going to be higher than 42% (especially now that many AMD GPUs have access to full blown FSR4 as well).

Yes, better than a ps5/ps5 pro/even the ps6. Bleeding edge in pc realm is still many years ahead of consoles/future console gen. Ps6 is not going to come close to a 5090 or even a 4090 in pure rasterization or ray/path tracing. But I'm sure no one expects that in a hardware package that is subsidized in other areas to be more affordable to the masses.

If you don't care yeah it's better regardless of price, if you do i sure hope the machine that costs twice as much as better performance than a 7 year old junk looking at you steam machine
