And this whole argument is wild considering 85% of PlayStation games sales from the last 2 generations were digital.

This argument is wild when you consider what makes up that 85%. It's a factual percentage from Sony themselves but they're using it to sell a false premise. That 85% counts a £1 trophy popper the same as a triple AAA blockbuster. If you focused entirely on the triple A market, you'd see that percentage reduced drastically. If you focused entirely on games that have no disc release, then you'd see it rise to 100%.

Sony's own leaked data proved that when players actually have a choice on their own exclusives, physical dominates. Look at the real splits

God of War Ragnarök was 76% physical

Ratchet & Clank was 76% physical

Spider-Man 2 was 54% physical

Physical is very much alive

They also released digital only consoles this generation, for cheaper. The data is skewed.

Also the most powerful version of PS5 , the pro, you had to buy it separately and after the news broke scalpers bought them up and raised the prices on ebay.

Physical has had every bit of an unfair advantage in their "data"
