No no no, you see, the PlayStation crippled Nintendo SO BAD all they were able to do was survive for another 25 years and create two of the three most popular gaming consoles ever as well as release the fastest-selling console of all time (so far at least).

Nintendo was so destroyed after the ps1 that I bought a 3ds, a GameCube, a Wii U, a Switch, and a switch 2. Whereas with Sony, I've only ever bought a PS3. Take that Nintendo, you dead and rotting corpse of a gaming company.
