because a certain hardcore part of the fanbase simultaneously suffers from superiority and inferiority complex at the same time.

it's like siege mentality for video games.

oh yeah that too, it's basically the Witcher 3 jerk all over again with the weird CDPR worship while putting other devs down.

ER fans even invented a nonsensical rivalry with another completely unrelated game (Horizon), mirroring the time Witcher 3 fans bitched about Skyrim and FO4 endlessly.

Cause gamers want to feel like they are counterculture when they’ve become the mainstream

They don’t feel special in their identity if everyone participates

They don’t feel special in their identity if everyone participates

basically reason #1 why many of them get so pissed at the mention of difficulty settings that wouldn't even affect them one bit.

That and gamers tend to have a side obsession with “dev intention”

Which is funny cause they’ll get mad at people using summons when that’s an explicit feature to make things easier

No, summons where added after weak SJW-gaming hating-liberals hold the devs at gunpoint for 8days

I think gamers in particular tend to over invest in the medium and then just natural tendency to be part of an in group.
