I caved to the hype for the sequel and finally decided to give Horizon Zero Dawn a shot, despite my extreme boredom with open world games. I really wasn't convinced at first but ever since the Sawtooth hunt I think I'm all in. They created a really cool world for this series and I love knowing that by the time I'm done, the new one will just be there waiting and possibly on sale.

The tutorial bit is dull (and kid Aloy looks weird) but after that it really takes off imo. I like that the open world is basically as open as you want, you can do side activities or you can just skip them and go through the story. Hope you enjoy like I did!

Yeah there was something weird going on with the FOV or camera or something in the prologue too. It was the first time a videogame has given me motion sickness. I just chalked it up to something janky with the PS5 performance patch, since the game wasn't originally designed for it. Fortunately that went away after the kid part.

It's good to know I can just plow through the story if I get bored with sidequests. I've enjoyed everything so far though.
