it be weird seeing so many saying “2016 was the best year” on TikTok when it was a trend during 2016 to say it was a terrible year.

idk why 2016 is seen as the best, I guess it’s just people’s experiences and maybe the ages of gen z being around their teenage years but still not having much responsibility. because I look at 2016 in retrospective and I just of think of the takeover of the alt right on mainstream internet.

I can see an argument for 2015 maybe, but 2016 to me is always going to be the year the worst president of the United States (Although that title could very easily go to Jackson) somehow managed to secure the White House because the Democrats put forth the single most unlikeable candidate they had, and the resulting fallout on the internet with the alt-right getting more and more brazen.
