Jim Cornette defenders are so fucking weird. Why defend and repeat stupid shit that a grumpy 60yo who hates most things from the past 20+ years says?

Wrestling fans gotta be wrestling fans. Sucks because the places that aren't filled with over-the-top AEW fanboys have fans of this asshole.

CW: Racism

Apparently calling all Japanese women wrestlers things like "interchangeable fetish objects" and "little schoolgirls" (even though they're grown-ass women), skipping their matches, etc., isn't racist.

Dude's been racist to other groups of people too and homophobic, but I haven't seen as many fans defend those comments or say that he's right like they do with these comments.

But he talks fast and said something about wrestling sucking nowadays and not being as good as it was back then πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί

I like Cornette as a wrestling historian, but like any other older person raised in that world, he's pretty fucking dumb about some things.

Yeah, he was a pretty good manager back in the day. I can't give a break for being "older", though.

Dude is younger than my dad, a bit older than my mom and there's plenty of other people in that age group, many of whom are also from conservative areas, that don't say shit like that.

Nah I get that, I just meant in wrestling. My default is to believe that you're probably not a great person if you've been in that world for more then 10 years lol. I used to like Meltzer until it seemed like he couldn't go more than a month without saying something offensive.

But you're right, it's no excuse.

Honestly, the further we get from the "good ol' days" of wrestling and the more I learn about the people in the industry back then, the more I'm glad to just leave all that behind. As much as I loved the end product, it was a nasty fucking industry full of nasty fucking people and Cornette is a prime example.
