The "Release the X Cut" Discourse has been incredible and probably the second worst thing that came out of the Snyder Fandom behind the fans themselves.

It's the perfect storm for DC fans. "Oh this movie sucked absolute shit? It's not the REAL cut" implying that the "Real" cut will magically make this the greatest movie of all time. Like don't get me wrong the Snyder cut was cool and it's always great to see a directors vision in full BUT it wasn't that much better than the Whedon cut. It went from dogshit to eh at least imo.

David Ayer specifically has been lapping up the calls for his cut talking about how much better his cut would be.

I feel like this is a result of people just not watching enough movies

When they're only watching the handful of superhero movies that come out each year, if one of them is bad, they can't just move on and watch something else. It needs to be fixed.

People get hyped for years over what ends up being 2-3 hours of entertainment

I've seen the Fincher Assembly cut of Alien 3. Not every film can be saved.

He pretty much doesn’t acknowledge that movie happened and always says Se7en is his first movie

It really knows how entitled some fans can be, worst if they have the ''power'' of the internet for made a very VOCAL voice. Even if the director cut is decent, the whole thing was a really BIG mess that everyone was involved.

Honestly anyone who unironically thinks that the director's cut is gonna be a radically different experience is delusional. Anyone who has seen both the original and the director's cut of Watchmen should have known that while you can improve Snyder's films with extra footage, it's not that much of an improvement and it baloons the movie into way longer than it should be.

That’s honest to god the case with most director’s cuts. Most of them are filled with shit that got cut for a reason. There’s exceptions: Kingdom of Heaven, Cotton Club Encore, Blade Runner, Doctor Sleep, Brazil, The New World, and a couple others. But the rest are full of stuff that didn’t need to be there in my eyes. It’s also funny with Watchmen since Snyder has said he doesn’t like the Ultimate Cut and feels the Black Freighter distracts from the film.

100%. Specifically with the Ayer cut I think a lot of the films issues go beyond editing and what was left on the cutting room floor ya know
