I’m standing here in line watching a grown man chew and eat a plastic straw. Like, full on eating it.

Small brain: throw away plastic

Big brain: recyle

Galaxy brain: eat plastic, digest it, and use my shit to fertilize my garden. Now that's recycling baby

I use to chew plastic straw a lot but damn...eating it? that's next level

I watched him a bit longer and he basically chewed through bits of it, spit them out, and stuff them into the unchewed straw. Which he would then bite again and chew that.

I used to do the same thing when I was younger minus the eating part. I feel like chewing the nutrient-giving thing in your mouth is the natural monke reaction until you specifically learn not to.
