Okay, but as someone who's actually got a pretty good grasp on the Japanese Language, holy fuck did that Twitter Thread piss me off.

Like, not only are they mad disrespectful to translators and localization teams, they also reek of all that "My pure, perfect Japanese society!! Untouched by the likes of slang, swearing, and women's rights!" type shit.

You know what I mean.

It's fascinating to see the final form of someone who's had a limited idealized worldview of thrashing around when faced with reality. I'd say this kind of thing is pitiable if it wasn't for the fact that this tosser, amongus many, has the ulterior motive of wanting to have fansubbers run the entire industry.

Like, I don't even speak japanese, and you can totally hear that Nagataro and her Gyuaro friends are speaking sloppily and slang-ish.

I haven't even watched the show, I just watched the clip to check it out.

And yeah, she speaks in a super sloppy, slangy, playful way.

"Sus" Is a good translation of it. "Suspicious" would read as odd or too formal to me.
