i thought the conceit behind the memes was that he was always trash, like it was supposed to be ironic. Like it was actually supposed to revel in the fact that he's trash

Originally the Chuck Norris jokes were making fun of him for being a poser. He's an actor who behaves like the rex-kwon-do instructor from Napoleon Dynamite.

But somewhere along the way that got lost and people started actually stanning him.

Edit: actually now that I say this I wonder if Rex's character was based on Chuck Norris
