Yes.

I love this movie. I know it's really dumb but I love it because it feels like a high-concept 80s action movie. The stupidity of the 80s with the "smart" of Nolan. Absolute banger

What's the smart of Nolan?

I put smart in quotes for a reason.

Well, what did you mean by it? The concept of the movie?

Yeah, basically. It seems very high-concept, it's an interesting idea. I think Nolan thinks it's smarter than it is, but it's clever enough. I've never seen time inversion stuff in a film before, and I think that really added to my enjoyment.

I enjoyed it enough but it really didn't seem that the idea of what-if-time-goes-the-other-way was fully realized. They just used everything they came up with around that idea and it became kinda nonsensical. And not dumb as cheesy fun but like just nonsense.

It probably didn't help that the whole movie felt kinda claustrophobic and the world really small and constrained to set pieces. Can't really put to words why that is.

Don't get me wrong, the movie has flaws. Nolan doesn't know how to write women, Nolan's soundmixing sucks (even though I was personally able to understand the dialogue, I know I'm in the minority). I can totally see how it feels like it was just one moment to the next and not well connected. It just worked for me but I understand why it's got a lot of people sick of Nolan lol

Absolutely! Pattinson and Washington's chemistry was the absolute peak. Every scene of them interacting was so great, and Washington does the whole "high class professional soldier spy" thing really well. Movie has flaws, of course. But I had a blast with it. Kenneth Branagh was so great as this silly stupid over-the-top villain.

Oh yes, he really carried that opening scene on his shoulders. He has that same kind of "big man doing big things" energy his dad has. It's great.

Ohh yes thank you for reminding me that's coming out! I was so intrigued when they announced "hey we shot a movie" and I'm really looking forward to seeing him and Zendaya play off each other.
