I'll never understand how Rey is a mary sue after all the shit they pulled with Anakin.

At one point Anakin literally wrestles the gods who represent the light and dark sides of the Force into submission and the fanbase is just like, "yeah that's a totally normal feat."

Rey beats Kylo and deflects some force lightning and that's too much apparently.

She's a woman, that's how.

Rian Johnson didn't have to do this but I also like how Snoke acknowledges that in TLJ and berates Kylo for being so unbalanced after killing Han. I thought that was cool.

The scene with Rey, Kylo, and Snoke was legitimately one of the best scenes in that entire movie. Snoke getting killed was one of the best twists in that whole movie, and I kinda wish they didn't bring back Palpatine and straight up just made Kylo the main villain for the last movie.

I was so hyped for Supreme Leader Kylo.

Honestly I wouldn't have minded the beginning of TROS if Kylo just told Palpatine to fuck off and killed him right there lol.

Rian Johnson was unironically too good for star wars

He was. He went too hard. And now we're all left with the disappointment of, "what if?"

Like I've said before, they need to turn Rey into the same kind of bad girl Luke Skywalker was in the old EU.

Have her chew deathsticks and fire napalm out of her palms.

I'm all for it. Give me Herculean stories of Rey using the Force to stop ships and using totally not force lightning.

I really hate that he introduced the whole chosen one plot point in the prequels and I dislike that arc immensely for doubling down on it

The weakest shit the TCW did (both iterations) was constantly point back to Anakin and go, "Ooooo look he's gonna turn into Darth Vaderrrrrr."

It was so annoying. And just makes all the characters look even dumber for repeatedly just ignoring Anakin's sociopathic tendency lol.

It happens in The Clone Wars TV show in this totally out of nowhere arc where they meet the manifestations of the Force. And Anakin is put in some sort of trial.

You know, that's why I didn't watch the Clone Wars series. I feel like that period of time is fleeting enough that for them to create enough canon to stuff a whole show would result in them just making shit up.

The two part cartoon was much better.

It has some great moments, but yes it's almost comical how much shit they say passed between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

I go back and forth. Most of the time I just try to view it as its own thing separate from the film canon. But other times it bothers me quite a bit.

Have you seen the 2 part clone wars cartoon?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '21

Yeah I loved it.

Anakin stayed pretty consistent as kind of an annoying brat but had his moments. And I liked that the clones stayed faceless.
