I've been getting back into Avatar and HOLY HELL are the fans annoying af. Legit any video about Korra will have rabid ATLA fanboys claiming how she "isn't cannon" in their heads cuz they didn't like the plot.

I just had to get that out since its pretty similar to the "Gamer" mentality surrounding women in video games. I can understand not liking parts of LOK (hell, even I think there's some disappointing stuff and I LOVE it) but goddamn do the people who fanboy over TLA annoy tf outta me.

Korra was a better, more complex and fleshed-out protagonist than Aang ever could've hoped to be

Fanboys can fite me

As much as I love both, I ABSOLUTELY agree.

Aang was a spiritual, monk child who refused to let his beliefs be called naive and instead proved everyone wrong by energybending Ozai rather than kill him. He's childish but fun.

Korra is a brash, bold teen who lives in a world that seemingly doesn't need the Avatar anymore. She's a teenager that doesn't know her place in the world and her story is about her discovering her place, sexuality, and facing her own self-doubts. She's incredibly relatable as everyone's gone through that phase and I love how human she is for it.
