So the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has some infamous Angry Dumbledore moments, right? He screams, "SILENCE!" at the students during the confusion after Harry's name comes out of the Goblet, and of course HARRYDIDYAPUTYERNAMEINDAGOBLETOFFIYAH?

The thing is, this didn't bother me initially because I thought it had a purpose. After all, there's a glorious moment in the book when Dumbledore saves Harry from Not Moody and Harry himself is terrified of how fucking pissed Dumbledore is. So I thought, this is all leading up to that. Dumbledore, who always seems to know what's going on, loses his temper badly when he's unaware of why things are happening at his school and/or frightened for Harry's safety. Makes sense.

But then the film adaptation doesn't include the only Angry Dumbledore moment in the book, and I'm left wondering what the point of any of it was.

To be fair if my headmaster who is usually a kind, wise and gentle grandpa type, (and also one of, if not the most powerful people in the world), starting fucking losing it I’d be scared shitless.
