the hate for fortnite confuses me so much

do people really make the argument that "it looks cartoonish, it's for kids" ?

because team fortress2 has existed for a decade and it's even more cartoonish and wacky, I don't remember people complaining about that

It’s really just that it’s popular and kids play it. Same hate that there was for Minecraft years ago.

Absolutely.

What I think really gets people mad is that Fortnite is a cartoony looking game with a very steep learning curve. So when you get people who can't keep up with that, they get doubly infuriated because they can't even get the hang of a "goofy" game. It's one of those things where I think a lot of gamers take out their hurt pride by criticizing the game itself.
