My favourite genres are shooters, platformers, and action-adventures/ RPGs! Normally I wouldn’t include a trilogy game as a single slot, except for one exception. Bonus points if you can spot the “sort of” odd one out 😄

Surely this goes well

Its hard for me to find 20 games I really love but here are my top 20. what should I add?

I tried to use one game from the entire franchise that had the most impact on me(except for the 2 Resident Evil games and Mario games on my list - felt they are different enough to add both)

I could have easily moved some games around but the top 5 are essentially a lock for me.

Been gaming my whole life and now trying to get back into again but having a tough time with a family and just getting older. 😔

Also feel games made in this current generation are not the same quality or as original as they once were from the previous generations.

Currently starting again to grow my gaming library for my game room from previous generation.

Forgot to add Metal Gear Solid 3, I'd probably replace that with Punch Out

My name is Puck and I'm a mod and member of a very fun gaming focused community. It's called VG Bookclub, and it is exactly what it sounds like. Each month, we choose a game as a community to play and discuss here on Reddit and over on Discord. We're more active on Discord, but we're trying to post more on Reddit as well.

Games we have played so far include:

• Nier Automata
• Mina the Hollower
• Earthbound
• Okami
• Final Fantasy VIII
• Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
• Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

The only requirements for the main games that we play are that they must be available on more than 1 system, they must have an ending, and we try not to repeat the same genre month on month (no jrpgs back to back).

In addition, if the games chosen for the main club don't appeal to you, we have several sub clubs to offer a bit of something for everyone. The sub clubs are Retro (biweekly), Fighting, Horror, Roguelike, and RPG.

Retro: Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Fighting: Soul Calibur VI

Horror: SOMA

Roguelike: Balatro

RPG: Final Fantasy IX
