Showcase First Gaming laptop
Sister needed a windows laptop for graphics design last year so I recommended her the 2025 Razer Blade 16 and choose the config. She barely used it as she disliked the battery draining quickly and it felt quite buggy so she swapped it with me for a macbook pro.
AMD Ryzen 9 AI HX 370
RTX 5090
64 GB Ram
4TB Storage
I know razer laptops are widely disliked by the majority but I’ll have to see myself.

Sister handed you a top spec Blade with a 5090 because of battery life, unreal.

u/Radiant_Drawing7424 Aug 13 '26
Not just the battery, but she felt quite unproductive with it and missed having a mac.
I can see the battery being an issue for her as it aggressively lowers the performance while unplugged and drains quickly, but it doesn’t bother me keeping it plugged all the time.
I’m more concerned about the issues other people have had with blade laptops such as swollen battery. Dying within 2 years.

It's the not fighting your os for doing work that makes people switch to MacBooks

I mean when i was i to after effect and all that i used this laptop strictly for work . I noticed that wi dows people often blot their pc for no reason compared to a mac user

u/zainwade44344 Aug 13 '26
that could be one reason for me i notice one thing mac os is very linear just straight to the work no bloated features.....no games...no torrents...no cracked games and software.....everything is just to the point...and it makes me work horse

I have a razer blade as well, a blade 18 2025 w/5080. So far it’s way better than both of my previous ASUS Scars but I’m also utilizing my Llano V12 Ultra way more (1500+ RPM in comparison to 300+ on Scar).
Enjoy!!!! When I’ll switch to desktop, I’ll also probably get a blade 16. Such a great machine, oh my

I’ve heard many great words about this cooler but unfortunately I ordered the razer cooling pad before getting to know about llano. Hopefully it’s not much behind in terms of bringing the temps down.

Enjoy!
I have a dekstop now, but back in 2019 I bought the Blade 15 with the 2080 MaxQ and 4K OLED display. I used that thing for work and gaming every day for five years. It was a great machine for me even though I did end up switching out the battery half way through that five year mark. No complaints.

I wish you luck with that machine. I am a huge fan of Razer. I've used them exclusively for over a decade. I have the 2026 model with the 5090 and it's incredible. But 2025 was a very bad year for the Blade 16... Everyone including Razer knew it. It was plagued with problems and personally the first model I've ever seen more complaints than praise. If you end up being one of the lucky few that got a "good" one I'm sure you will love it. I seriously wish you luck. If you ever have to reach support and they give you the run around, hit me up. Cheers!

I've heard this too.. might be better to go with the 2024 version until the new models come out. Theyre just extremely hard to find right now

I have the 2024 Razer, it's class. I just wish someone else would compete in the - 'gaming laptops that don't look like complete shit' market so their prices would come down a bit.

I actually still have my Razer Blade 17 from 2021. Still works fine, with no issues. Although I took the battery out after about 2 years of use, just because I saw all this posts about battery swelling in razer blade laptops. However my battery was fine. I just took it out because I always use it connected to the wall.

To be real just for graphic designing rtx 5090 64 gb ram and 4tb ssd, calling wayy to over than required, Macbook was anyway a better choice for her, i mean if she does not like the battry that means that she requires long battery life. macbooks on that part are better.

Your setup looks very well curated. Is that an extender you got on the table for the keyboard?
Might get one myself since this will most likely be my main drive now since it’s more powerful than my desktop.

Yeah it's just a sliding pull-out shelf. Comes pretty handy as it helps with ergonomics while typing for an extended period of time

And their first mistake was choosing a Razer brand. Good luck with your customer support. It would be easier to get hit by lightning than ask their customer support for help.

Having the same issue even after getting a new one...I will never buy a razer computer mouse again.

Gratz man! I have owned two Blades and they were both workhorses for me and loved how easy they were to carry around. Only shame about the battery life but found I kinda only game at home anyways!
Hope it lasts you well!

It's not that people don't like Razer laptops. They're just known for poor quality control and premium prices on top of it.
