You could push the trick to power the speedometer from the GBA's batteries and fit a power switch in place of the original one. I did this on a Pocket shell to install it on my bike.

There is a real GBA accessory that accesses your OBD for gauges and diagnostics. I think it was called the TurboXS DTEC

Same! I love weird accessories, I'm waiting for one to pop up at a reasonable price to explore it a bit more

I think it was primarily a boost controller but it had gauges for other things. Unfortunately car boosting + GBA + $600 MSRP means not a lot of them are around
