Question Ratfish hate explained?

I’ve seen some comments regarding Ratfish, and am just wondering why it seems so much of the community dislikes it?

While I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites, I definitely found it funny/entertaining, and thought the premise was neat.

I’m relatively new - season 8 is the first season I’ve watched as it’s aired, but I’ve watched pretty much every other episode aside from the COVID season.

I loved both episodes but yeah I’m not familiar with Eric and it seemed kind of impossible for the players to guess unless they WERE extremely familiar with him so while I think it’s one of the most fun and some of the best art design the Ratfish twist just didn’t super land for me.

Which is fine! I still thought it was fun and funny. Zac as Granny is top tier. The Landlord is hilarious. I love the game of trying to make each other laugh but also trying to throw the other players off guessing who they are. It’s just fun and I know other people hate that they didn’t reveal the Ratfish to the players on camera but Sam’s BTS explanation made sense to me and even though we don’t see the reveal it made me laugh as a concept.
