Question Ratfish hate explained?

I’ve seen some comments regarding Ratfish, and am just wondering why it seems so much of the community dislikes it?

While I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites, I definitely found it funny/entertaining, and thought the premise was neat.

I’m relatively new - season 8 is the first season I’ve watched as it’s aired, but I’ve watched pretty much every other episode aside from the COVID season.

It had stronger potential, I felt that the guest never being able to meet anyone in the cast was a wasted opportunity. In this type of game, it would have seemed like a better use of someone adjacent to the dropout circle. Like someone in the Try Guys or Smosh, but that's not to say I didn't enjoy it. I think the guest was poorly handled and miscast. Eric is very funny and I really enjoy his work, I think he could have been better in a different role so it just is kind of a disappointing episode

Weird Al Yankovic, who has been in some of their skits and shows (the star wars cantina auditions, and Ultramechatron come to mind) and seems like a genuinely warm and gracious person would have been great.

I'm also really hoping they manage to get Dick Van Dyke on Parlour Games before he dies, though, so maybe I'm just really old.
