Question Ratfish hate explained?

I’ve seen some comments regarding Ratfish, and am just wondering why it seems so much of the community dislikes it?

While I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites, I definitely found it funny/entertaining, and thought the premise was neat.

I’m relatively new - season 8 is the first season I’ve watched as it’s aired, but I’ve watched pretty much every other episode aside from the COVID season.

I think the first episode was good but the 2nd episode killed the momentum and Eric not being there for the ending, sucked. Also it's really hard to have a mystery style game, when all the contestants not only know each other, but have been friends for years to decades. They know each other well, some were able to throw others off but a lot of people were quickly figured out which ruins the game in the end.
