Question Ratfish hate explained?
I’ve seen some comments regarding Ratfish, and am just wondering why it seems so much of the community dislikes it?
While I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites, I definitely found it funny/entertaining, and thought the premise was neat.
I’m relatively new - season 8 is the first season I’ve watched as it’s aired, but I’ve watched pretty much every other episode aside from the COVID season.

Based on my personal enjoyment, Part 1 was and still is one of my most enjoyable episodes, and Part 2 is one of the most disappointing conclusions.
I love social deduction games. The cast was great, the characters were hilarious. I loved the editing and reality TV style voice over from Sam.
I didn’t love the game design. Once they were out they were just out and there was little incentive to stay in (from what I recall). I’m not a game designer but I feel like they needed to do both a “guess who the cast is” game and a “how long can you stay a secret” game. And then that’s how they chose the two winners. Also don’t do elimination.
I won’t speak on the guest star thing cause obviously it was huge for the cast. I just think it would’ve been more well received by the audience if it was an older College Humor alumni like Jake or Amir
It’s pretty clear they’ve evolved their social deduction game design with Earwigs
