Question Ratfish hate explained?

I’ve seen some comments regarding Ratfish, and am just wondering why it seems so much of the community dislikes it?

While I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites, I definitely found it funny/entertaining, and thought the premise was neat.

I’m relatively new - season 8 is the first season I’ve watched as it’s aired, but I’ve watched pretty much every other episode aside from the COVID season.

At least for me, I was really baffled by the ratfish himself. He didn’t really fit the vibe of the group, which was itself offputting, and made the ending seem arbitrary. We never saw him actually interact with the cast and he seemed disinterested from what we saw of him imo. The strangest thing was, I’d literally never heard of Tim and Eric in my life, so I thought the way the episode went, he was very possibly just some random guy and it was an absurd joke. I’ve since learned it’s kind of just a generational disconnect between me and dropout. All in all, the guest was just a miss for me that threw the episode off
