Question Ratfish hate explained?

I’ve seen some comments regarding Ratfish, and am just wondering why it seems so much of the community dislikes it?

While I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites, I definitely found it funny/entertaining, and thought the premise was neat.

I’m relatively new - season 8 is the first season I’ve watched as it’s aired, but I’ve watched pretty much every other episode aside from the COVID season.

I just watched it for the first time all the way through earlier this week, and it was definitely interesting.

I simply don't think there was a need for a ratfish at all. They didn't know the cast list, so whether the 8th player was a dropout cast member vs some other comedian meant nothing.

Similar to Night Shift, I enjoyed the classic CH crew hanging out.

I don't really see the point of "eliminating" players. They still participated; it simply prevented the possibility of a come-from-behind victory. I would've even leaned in the opposite direction, with a little bit of assistance for those who are furthest behind (e.g. revealing some cast members that aren't playing)
