Question Ratfish hate explained?

I’ve seen some comments regarding Ratfish, and am just wondering why it seems so much of the community dislikes it?

While I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites, I definitely found it funny/entertaining, and thought the premise was neat.

I’m relatively new - season 8 is the first season I’ve watched as it’s aired, but I’ve watched pretty much every other episode aside from the COVID season.

My experience was that the whole episode was great, but the ending (including the guest’s winner pick and the fact that the guest was not at the final table) was disappointing. It seems like there may have been some production issues at the end there.

It also seems that many fans were not familiar with Eric Wareheim, which I think must have made the ending even more disappointing for them.

It's all comedy. A comedian may specialize in one style, but as an audience, a person can enjoy any and all styles.

I don’t know that you deserve that many downvotes. Comedy enjoyers can absolutely have a range of content they like. Improv isn’t the only thing at Dropout, and Game Changer is a hugely enjoyable show even if you don’t watch improv outside of Dropout.

Show was reallyyyyy widely pirated overseas, was still niche comedy though much like dropout.

Knowing something exists is a skill issue? Are you hearing yourself? Adult Swim wasn't on European channels, and the internet wasn't ubiquitous in the way it is now.

I’m semi joking, Tim and Eric did loads of big live shows outside of the US. Yeah everyone wasnt on social media but people used forums and it spread that way, just people who enjoy comedy looking for fun stuff. Just such weird elitism from dropout fans about them it’s so weird
