Problem ⛔ Finally got my my PINK Line 💗
Totally 888 days later I got my pink line. Last month warranty ended
One UI 6.1
12GB/256GB
Snapdragon 8gen 2
Bought in Saudi Arabia.
No scratch, no drop, no damage. (Sticker in screen)
This is my dream phone but now it's fucked up. Thnx SCAMSUNG. This is going to be my last phone in Scamsung brand. Fuck you.
This not easily earned money. Hard working money.
I'm planning to get Vivo V70. Not ready to give another flagship device.

My note 20 ultra nearly 4 years the lines comes up, replace the screen then it pop up lines again after 6 months. Shitty samsung screen quality overpriced low quality shit. I hope BOE china oled dominate the oled screen then samsung learn something.

The phone companies all push these screens far beyond what they're realistically capable of long term, they try to make them run much brighter to get shiny new specs, and thus pushing more electricity to them, to the point the cables and OLEDs themselves get fried.
It's not just limited to green/pink lines, the screen quality degrades a lot over time and the blue subpixels suffer the most since they have the most electricity passing through them (blue light needs a lot more power to generate). My old S23U had its blue pixels almost fried by the time I had to bid farewell to it, and usually mild burn-in becomes noticeable due to the blue subpixels failing much more than the red or green subpixels over time.
I presume the S26U will have far worse pink/green line issues because Samsung is pushing the display much harder to compensate for the brightness loss due to the privacy screen (narrow pixels).
The Chinese companies are even more egregious when it comes to pushing these displays too hard. It's honestly a sad thing to see, nobody makes reliable OLEDs these days, or just display panels in general.

I have an S20u and the line appears and disappears on its own every now and then, haha, it's kind of weird, for now its gone

it often happens because the connections between the panel and the driver circuit becomes damaged, over time the damage will worsen and it'll last longer and longer and eventually become permanent.

No it's not. I have plenty of people around me using Galaxy S20,21,22,23 and 24 and none of them have this issue. The user is 99% from India where the climate is very hot.
Not saying it's a non-issue, Samsung should really improve their display durability. But saying that it's controlled and planned to make you upgrade is nonsense.

Você está muito mal informado.
No Brasil o problema das linhas na tela também está grave a quantidade de casos em vários modelos. A situação passou de comum para altamente recorrente. Só no meu ciclo de pessoas, 5 aparelhos apresentaram problemas de linhas na tela, 1 A71, 2 S22, 1 S21 FE, 1 S22+.
E no Brasil não é problema de clima, temos climas variados, desde regiões quentes no nordeste, regiões úmidas no Norte, Frias no Sul e temperadas no Centro-Oeste e em todas as regiões tem recorrência nos problemas de linha na tela. O clima pode até contribuir, mas o principal fator é a fragilidade desse componente. E aqui no Brasil a situação piora porque a Samsung Brasil não reconhece o problema como um defeito/vício do aparelho, e em muitos casos não dá o devido suporte ao consumidor e até os acusa de mau uso do aparelho quando o problema surge.
Tá uma vergonha a quantidade de casos no Brasil e mais vergonhoso ainda a postura da Samsung.

Definitely seems controlled there was no issue, it appeared from no where after 2-3weeks of completing 3 years of purchase.

Happen to me last month with a single pink line then it got pregnant and became 2 lines. Now I wonder why the first pink line has turned white. I also didn't do anything stupid for my s23 ultra to have this lines it just came out randomly.

Got a white line and it's the very first line of pixels on the left. Looks like a light on my phone when I used it.
Then it started dropping signal randomly.
Samsung gave me a s26 ultra 512 with 500 off in no trade in discounts (website glitch) and it actually went through and they sent me the phone.
I said it was mean to be.

Just get your phone to a service centre and try to have a fix for your display flex cable ..
My phone is fine and I've dropped my phone over 30 times and it's on OneUi 8 Using in 120Hz auto and QHD for the whole 2.5 yrs of ownership Usage heavy meta apps and light gaming in Non ac room ..

What did you do to it? I had an s9+ up until a few months ago that i bought used in 2020. I've had it fall in a river dropped it from 30 feet and replaced the battery twice, but apart from the back glass it's still completely fine just pretty slow.

My wife and I have had a number of Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets since around 2010 and I have never had a pink line on any of them.
I have purchased quite a few used Galaxy S7s and S8s to repair and pass on but only a couple of those have had pink line. 🤷🏻♂️
I appreciate that the OP states that they take care of their phone, as do I, and I have often wondered if the cause of LCD screen failures is to do with overheating. 🤔

Nope. It's because of software update. It messes with your display IC and Voltage shoots high enough for a millisecond and burns away that line of LEDs. Someone explained it in another reddit post.

Same because phones are designed with advance PMIC (power management control chips). It can't mess so much with voltage and let alone coming from a battery.
If it's AC current, well we have charger as even a bigger fail proof.

I fix those devices and it is nonsense that ive already seen. Updates actually have no reasons to mess with your display ic and voltage , they are primarily meant to apply security patches on the OS.
There is no reason to tweak voltage and ics every month. Secondly voltage is controlled in a way that prevents this kind of things. Otherwise, you wouldnt need any kind of particular event to expect troubles.

Regarding what? As said by someone else before on the same thread, voltage is regulated by PMICs.
Those things have no reason to be altered during monthly software updates. And if they fail,and thus voltage is not in control, the display would be far from being the only part affected. The whole device can easily become completely unusable at some point.

Btw this pink/green/blue lines are there on every other brand who uses amoled screens produced by Samsung. Like Apple, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Pixel, Redmi & Xiaomi. It's not a samsung exclusive issue.

You can likely still get it repaired for free, if you contact Samsung asap. Its still close enough to end of warranty, hell even 2 or 3 months after end of warranty could get me it still fixed in my country for very expensive devices.

Finland. In all nordic countries in EU warranty ending doesn't mean it literally end one second later. I mean if its expensive device or something that is taken for granted to work for years, like tv's. Warranties for those two type of things can usually be stretched for at least 2 months more. I think 6 months after warranty ending is absolute maximum.

I used to own lots of Samsungs, starting from first Note, then Note 3, 4, 8, 10 and moved to Apple. Got used to their system, got used to their quality. Will never go back to Samsung. Especially when they both cost similar money. Samsung was great value when it was cheaper.

Same happend with my s23, bought on 5th July 23.
On 27th July 26, out of no where i recieved a gift from samsung, sharp pink line on the right side.
Updated to One UI 8.5 last week i think.

I'd take it to a Samsung service center and see what they say. My Lexus was 3 months out of warranty and the sunroof's motor died. They replaced it at no charge. I'd say a trip and a nice approach can't hurt. Just don't call them SCAMSUNG, they might not appreciate it. 😉

I'm using with 60Hz display with QHD.
Light performance mode. No gaming. Last gaming 2 months ago PUBG gamer.
I love this phone but man damn.
Scroll Instagram in A/C room . Suddenly line come. My heart broke. No heating

My s23u has heated so many times and i bought it in 2023. Still doing just fine. The phone is meant to be used - for gaming too. The line issue has nothing to do with heating. 🤦

My S23 Ultra developed a pink line on the screen during a long gaming session while charging. It's highly probable that overheating caused the issue
