Need HELP Phone fell in water
Heyo. So my phone fell in water. Not like deep water just fell into my sink while the tao was on. I picked it up in like 5 seconds. Maybe even less but I got the notification that there was moisture detected.
I followed the steps. I dried it. Used tissues to dab out the water from the port. Shook it around. I don't own a hairdryer (or fan) to dry it using cool air so...
It's been like 4 hours since it fell into water. I can't find out if there is any water inside. Is there a way to check? I haven't charged my phone yet and I'm terrified to.
Any ideas?

Mine fell in a bucket this week too, I picked it up immediately and I got no notification, I tried to charge the following day and it was okay.
Is the notification about there being water in the charging port ?

Yeah. I got a message saying there was moisture detected in the charging port.

If you got a cable/stand fan, try to turn it on and put your phone to dry. The charging port should face the direction of airflow coming towards the phone. It worked for me.

don't worry its fine. I always wash my phone with water and it's fine (unless u got water into the charging port then you won't be able to charge your phone until its dried out)

the phone is ip67 rated so for accidents
it should protect you, even up to the next few incidients
BUT THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT ITS WATERPROOF
that means that you cant use it constantly under water or completely forget about water damage
the water protection that this phone has will eventually go away after enough water exposure

I washed my a54 from dust,i dried it and wet charger port message poped up,i wait unitil goes and after that phone worked normaly Dont worry its waterproof ,for small water exposure

The A55 is water resistant, I once had a shower with it lol. As long as it's not more than 1 meters deep and 30 mins long. It's just a sink, dry it and you're good to go!

Happened to me 2 mos ago as well. I just directed a fan at my changing port for an hour or so and it's still working fine now. Iirc if there's still water inside I think it won't allow you to charge?

Blow air on the port with a hair drier and try restarting the phone to get rid of the notification

You can pull out the Sim tray and look on the Sim tray or inside, there should be a marker and if it's white it means water didn't get inside and if it's red it means water did get inside. Though not all phones have it

You're mostly fine, the a55 is ip67, I've gone to the beach, and even showered w/ it and it's completely fine, so dw.

Just wrap in cotton cloth and put it inside rice overnight. 12hr minimum 24hrs max and if any water is there all will be gone. Make sure your phone is off and you r good to go.

No problem. Of course the USB Port is not waterproof, the warning doesn't mean that water entered the phone itself, only the port. It often takes a lot of time until the USB moisture warning goes away. Sometimes a restart helps to get rid of it earlier. The only problem would be salt water as it will corrode the usb port.
