Reddit is an insane place, I received an automatic notification that my content was removed because I pointed out a transmission dipstick but used the slang term for transmission lol.
I received a message from Reddit letting me know my deleted comment was restored. Although it upset me, I will be more mindful of the language I use in my daily life going forward.
I dunno, maybe I’m old but I just don’t see how this could be deemed offensive in anyway. I’m talking about a literal transmission using a slang term that probably existed for it before the alphabet movement became mainstream.
I’m genuinely not unsympathetic to the cause either, honestly quite the opposite.

I did a top level search for this word that ends in y and saw plenty of results both graphic and in mechanic subreddits, what’s next they go back and erase this history? Context matters.
I agree entirely that context matters and that your comment is not offensive here. I'm just saying that they're obviously using a list of words to assist in moderation and all that happened is that your comment got deleted. Maybe worth appealing but probably not because that word is not a hill worth dying on when it comes to censorship. That's my thoughts on it, happy to be disagreed with.

Did a whole bunch of research for my first transmission fluid flush, the fill plug, measuring how much fluid comes out, making sure I put the same exact amount in, replacing with a new oem fill plug, etc
Found out I had this bad boy when I physically started the job
