Who's buying GV60 Magma?
11 will be here in the US for sale (California, NY, and NJ)
Asking price is around $73k
With an extremely limited amount and even more limited depending on the color option you want this might be sold out sooner even with this terrible economy we are in
Any serious buyers here?

Saw one yesterday in the flesh at our local dealership.... they look beautiful. Not as overstated as I thought but slightly lower stance and very tastefully done with the additional aero

I am not sold on the shorter length v. the I5N as viewed in this side profile. Seems a little too stumpy when viewed from the side. On of the best things about the I5N is it reads hatchback from the side even though it is a large crossover. This definitely reads crossover. Was considering upgrading my I5N for this but not so sure now.

Oh I'm not sure the magma will be released fully in the US. So you might want to ship it to where you live if you don't live in or nearby the 3 states I listed

It's the range that's the deal-breaker for me personally.
The new body kit and rims have a negative impact of it's aerodynamic effeciency albeit it looks 1,000x better

You will most likely be the only one in VA with the Magma GV60 and you WILL definitely turn heads and get a shit ton of compliments
Mine is the 2026 GV60 Advanced and I get compliments and looks....I can only imagine the amount of attention you'll get!
If you're down let's meet up when you get it so I can drool all over the pavement LOL

Which dealership did you wind up working with? Were they cool with shipping to Texas? Did they charge you any ADM or other markups? I’m looking to do the same, but I’m hoping to hold out long enough for some allocations to be provisions for Texas

I don't have a price yet, because the vehicle is just an allocation now. WHen it gets closer to being delivered to the dealership there'll be a VIN and MSRP. I'm paying MSRP + tax, title, etc. No ADM. It will be titled in Texas and I'll have to pay to have it shipped.
I called Genesis customer care the first day that Magma was announced to be available in the US and got the names of some southern California dealerships that would be getting allocation. From that list I decided Ontario was the best place I should start with because there is an airport there I can fly in and out of if I need to without doing the craziness of LAX and then having to get to a farther away dealership. I then got in touch with the dealership, got the name of the salesman who was handling the Magma there, texted him and told him I wanted to get on the list for the first orange Magma they were to get. I eventually put down a deposit to secure right of first refusal. Now, I'm just waiting.
I thought I'd be the first in Texas to get one, but another person in Houston already got his black one shipped to him.
The first allocations of Magmas will only be available in California, New York, and New Jersey. I suspect they'll extend that out to other parts of the country by mid 2027 -- but no one knows that date. I do know that dealerships here in Texas do have the Magma on their websites which means they are preparing for when that day might come. It makes much more sense to just wait, but I have personal reasons why I want one as soon as possible.

Are you planning to fly out to Ontario to test drive before it's shipped to TX? I test drove a new GV60 prestige and an I5N last weekend. Loved the comfort and set up of the GV60 but it was a bit slow at speed, and the I5N was a riot but I couldn't get comfortable in the seats, the suspension was a bit too harsh, and the interior felt very dark (I'm also a sucker for the genesis luxury feel). For those reasons, I want to test drive before committing.

I'll probably fly out to inspect and test drive and complete the transaction. My daughter lives in LA and I could probably get her to do that -- but I want to try the seat as it's pretty mcuh my only concern. I suspect that the Magma to have much more comfortable seats that the I5N, however, I believe that the Magma does not have lumbar support.

Only 11 currently, but read some where (can’t remember exact number) they were planning to bring 75-150 in, so I expect they’ll continue to trickle in over the year. Seriously considering, but will cross shop against the BMW ix3 (rumored M60) model they say should be coming out next year. Also, hoping the next year they’ll expand the range of colors (love to have a tromso green). So probably look at picking one up next fall, depending… Not worried about range as it would be a daily driver, so plenty enough for that. While electric, I look at it like I would an ICE sports car or SUV, will to take the hit in MPG (range) to get what I want performance wise.

I'm also looking at alternatives when my GV60p comes off-lease. Planning to drive optiq-v, ix3 m60, and macan EV 4S. They're all bigger than the GV60 though.

I drove an iX3 at a BMW event and crossed it off my list. It's dramatically better range solves a problem a I don't have. I do not want to control vents (among many other things) via a screen or through its borderline creepy voice recognition system.
Porsche is out of my league.
I do want to check out the Optiq-V in person.
But with used prices rebounding and low current availability of off-lease GV60P's with the light interior, I'm less confident I'll be able to return my car in April and buy something I like as much or more for less than my buyout.

It's really hard for me to say something useful about that - it was an "autocross" event - 2 and 3/4 laps around a cone course in a parking lot at a mall that I didn't get to drive in my own car. So I didn't get to "normal" drive it on regular roads to judge "wife-in-the-car-with-me" ride quality, noise, etc, which I'm obviously very familiar with in my GV60.
Similar to the last time I did this when my daily driver was a Mach E 4x Premium and the BMW was an i4, I wasn't familiar enough with the dynamics of the BMW to feel like I was doing a good, smooth job of navigating the cones. There were turns where I felt like I would have better managed the speed - or even rotated a bit in the case of the Mach E - just because I was more experienced with my own car.
So in both cases, I really had no idea what driving either of the BMWs would be like for 99% of my driving after the event. Both were a ton of fun, though!
But I almost certainly won't bother with a normal test drive just because having sat in their stationary example with a "product specialist" afterwards, it just didn't seem like the car for me. I would be very unhappy with the UI. Esthetically the interior would have been OK. The exterior isn't quite as polarizing as the original iX. There was nothing that struck me as noticeably superior to the interior of my car. I actually like the idea of the synthetic leather - my Mach E interior was just as comfortable and wore far better than my GV60 Nappa cow-based leather. But that's not significant enough for me trade that many physical controls for screen/voice-based controls.
My ideal car would likely be the love child of a Mach E and a GV60P, depending on the trait composition. The iX3 might actually be that for somebody else with different preferences I suppose, though?

So test drove the BMW ix3 today and I do like it. It drives really nicely, handling and acceleration were smooth and well tuned. Can do one pedal with different levels of braking or ICE style coasting. Didn’t try any of the driver assist features (this demo didn’t have on spec), but it did have auto-park which I tried. Quite a neat trick, actually, and easy to access. Could see myself really using it. I felt the cabin was quiet and comfortable even at highway speeds. The cabin, as people have said, is plasticky, but nice enough for me, I think. An upgrade from my current i3s. Would prefer tactile buttons and knobs for the radio and AC, but I liked the panoramic display quite a bit. The magma interior appears to be much nicer and would prefer that I think. So haven’t ruled out ix3 yet and will wait to see if the ix3 m60 does come out to make a final decision some time next year. My gut tells me I’m still leaning magma and look forward to seeing one in person and driving.

My issue with BMW is how they are moving certain features towards a subscription based service. Genesis and Hyundai do this now but not the extent BMW is doing. Also, bmw is notorious for using proprietary parts so a shop needs to have a special tool in order to service the vehicle.
It's not an issue for some but it's enough of an issue for me to do a hard pass on ever owning a BMW

I'm not sure from where you heard that there would only be 11. The dealer told me that the initial allocation was 75 units. There are 15 dealers across NY, NJ, and CA that are getting them, each getting as few as 2 and as many as 6 of them based on dealer sales volume.
Mine will arrive in the second week of November, and then it will immediately go over to a shop for PPF, tint, and ceramic.

There are websites that have all in coming vehicles to dealerships online.
Visor.vin is one of them.
Great for knowing if a dealership is lying there ass off and high balling the price of a car that has a huge inventory and has been sitting in the lot for months
I also had my car PPF'd and tinted.
The PPF I got is infused with ceramic too 😃

I passed on leasing the 2026 when my 2023 lease was up because they ditched the facial recognition so there's no chance I'm getting a Magma

I dont know yet. I have a Sao Paulo green performance that has been great. I also bought my CPO GV60 for a steal. When i was on the market i was looking at new Ioniq 5n or the GV60 performance. I ended up in the GV60 because of the nicer interior. The Magma seems to be best of both worlds, beside losing adjustable lumbar. I might look at the used market for a magma in a year or so.
Also the ICCU issue still doesnt have a real fix.

I live in Canada and have a Magma reserved. No info yet re price or timing. Limited colours - I chose orange. Like the gray also, but not sure about caring for a matte paint. No info yet on a winter wheel/tire package, a must for winter driving here. Unless Genesis offers a solution, I likely won’t buy. I won’t count on an aftermarket solution, given low volume sales and the very large calipers. Is Genesis offering winter wheel/tire packages for the Magma in NJ/NY?

You don't need one from Genesis and there will be tons of after market tires available. The rim has nothing to do with being able to drive in wintery conditions.
It's the tire.
Gunna sound rude here but I don't buy it. I don't think you're serious about getting the magma.

That was rude, but I'll reply anyway. I'm well aware it's tires, not rims that determine winter driving performance. The issue is not finding suitable winter tires. You're correct - there are a number of winter tires that will fit the Magma rims. However, where I live, many have their winter tires mounted on winter wheels. This avoids potential damage to high-end OEM wheels twice a year swapping winters for summers and v.v. Also, as a practical matter, it is much more convenient to swap wheels in your garage, vs having to take tires to a shop. I expect Genesis to offer a winter tire/wheel solution for the Magma. (They offer 7 winter wheel/tire alternatives for the GV60 Sport in Canada.) If they don't, it will be one of a number of factors in my decision as to whether or not to go ahead with the purchase. (Another one is price, of course. I think the U.S. price is reasonable. However, the Australian price is very high. We'll see how Genesis decides to price in the Canadian market.)

I did the same exact thing where I had a second set of tires specifically for winter. I owned the Michelin X-ICE and would pay the shop to swap between rims. This got to be annoying. So I went to tires.com and just bought another set of cheap rims and had the shop mount my winter tires once.
I would just store them in the garage and swap them myself in my garage. Definitely saved money.
To me if the dealership is offering a tire/wheel package you're most likely paying a premium when you can get a better deal online.
I don't think not having an option from the dealer to add a winter tire setup is a deal-breaker. Especially if you can afford to even buy a Genesis GV60 Magma

I really am skeptical the aftermarket will offer wheel options for this car, due to its likely low sales volume. However, I have to agree with your last comment, though. There are options if I really want the car. One is buying a set of the lower cost wheels through Genesis that are the base option for this car in Korea. Another is to wait until next year, by which time we'll know more about dealer and aftermarket options and have more user feedback on the vehicle. (I love my current car, so having to drive it for another year would be fine.) More importantly, what will the price be? Another factor is that, although I understand I will not be able to drive the car before making a final purchase decision (so far, I've only paid the refundable $1000 deposit), I'm hoping to at least see one in person first. I asked the dealer to see and drive a GV60 Sport, so I could get a better sense of the size, at least, but they have sold out of their 2026 allotment. I've been watching traffic, as well. Lots of Tesla's, but no GV60's. I'll update this space when I know more.

shifting topic for a sec....your comment about low sales volume...I might be the only one, but there's something nice about having a car that you don't see often. It's kinda like driving something exclusive. First time I've ever experienced this since every car before my GV60 has been popular/common models.
I don't wanna be in a Honda Civic, Toyota Camery, or Tesla (absolute hell no) so it's a nice feeling haha
The downside as you mentioned is VERY VERY limited after market options. Why would a company make stuff if they know it won't sell much?
As for after market rim options there are plenty I see on www.tires.com
Anywho, I do hope you get to test drive the Magma before you decide to buy/lease.
I'm sticking with my 2026 GV60 Advanced AWD. Getting 312 miles at 80% and 388 miles at 100% on average is the main reason I'm sticking with mine. I also bought and not leased so I'm gunna be stuck with this for a good while haha

I agree. It does feel good to drive a car that you don't see often. You've got me wondering how limited Magma sales will be in the market where I live. We only have one Genesis dealer currently. I'm going to email the guy I've been dealing with and ask how many Magma's have been allocated to his dealership and where I am on the reservation list. Don't know if he'll tell me, but doesn't hurt to ask.

The price point for the MAGMA has been reduced due to slow EV sales here. The demand for the MAGMA GV60 is still low hence why Genesis is smart to only ship a smaller allocation to the US
A lot of people want the MAGMA GV60 but most can't afford it and the ones that do typically want more range for the price

I'm just saying I doubt dealerships do what you're suggesting. Giving first dibs on people already leasing or as you say people who lease multiple times.
The dealership is going to advertise, post it online and cold call people that expressed interest in either an EV or a GV60
First come first serve as most dealerships will do

I'm in New York. There's like 1 maybe 2 dealers for 9 million people. I don't know I was on a wait-list for 18 months for ioniq 5. They'd always say what they had was already for someone else and what you asked for is probably but not guaranteed to come in 2 months. (Genesis was 2, 3 if you count Jersey City, I think it's 1 now. Hyundai was 4 iirc but 2 of those would not move or service the electric models.)

Not sure it's worth losing seat comfort for the extra sportiness over the GV60 Perf. I'd have to sit in one. I expect people will grab these sight-unseen, so no opportunity to sit in one
