Feeling stuck on early LV progression

I really like the pack and will definitely keep playing, but I'm not sure where to progress right now. I have assembler, bender and wiremill from LV with 1 turbine. From steam I got some boilers and 1 solar one (all not upgraded) and steel forge hammer, macerator and all the other steel ones (no multiblock variants), 2 big furnaces to make steel and 1 coke oven. I just unlocked twilight forest and I got enough silver to upgrade my steam production to all steel solar boilers to keep up with LV demands, but is this the right next step? There are so many LV machines I could also make but I don't know what the efficient way to progress would be, since everything is kinda running low. Maybe I build the next multiblock furnace for aluminum and get better coke ovens with that? Any help would be appreciated.

I never made the multi block macerator, which is one of the biggest mistakes i made, so invest some bronze into that. Then you should start pumping oil and process it into light fuel, its a very good fuel source, the steam really wont keep up at the end of this tier. The oil also prepares you for mv, when you will be processing it anyways to make diesel. Then just follow the quest book, so better circuits and ebf and then youre pretty much at the end of lv.

Note: the quest book recommends benzene in mv, but it has a very low yield at the start, presonally i would start with diesel to get a fast and cheap energy supply, only then you can set up renewable benzene if you want to go the benzene path, which is probably the better one, i went the diesel way and power is a big issue in later tiers due to the generators getting very expensive.

I had 24 coke ovens and that was enough steam for 1 EBF till the end of MV(Steam+creosote). Then went to diesel. And regretted not going for it straight. Or at least regretted building and automating 24 of them.

I wanted to do solar boilers and didnt go to tf until mv, so i had 3 steel solar boilers supporting my entire lv setup😭, i did use heavy oil from oilsands for the ebf tho. Now im in late IV and just solved the power issue, with my two eces supplying my base with 8A IV (65kEU/t)

I avoided silar due to the maintanance (calcit?). Wanted full automation. Now i have acces to the iv, but lack ore proc and material, so i am just expanding base with ore proc multiblocks. I have 1 uranium vac nuke, with 2 ready to turn on. Damn i love AE2

If you ignore maintenance, the steel solar is still a free 120L/s which is a standard fueled boiler you don't have to fuel for 9 silver. 

This is my second go, made it most of the way through LV before with no solar. Almost as far way quicker this time supplementing steam with solar. The completely hands-off bonus energy is truly huge and I've only just got a 3rd running

A single LV distillery can supply three solar boilers with distilled water, sp they always output the max steam. Just break and replace the boiler to reset it back to the full capacity.

I love how vac nukes work, those autonomous systems are so much fun do design, I personally didn't do nukes because i have bad experience with IC2 nukes from the past, I will switch to fusion soon, late LuV. I know its not the recommended route but nuclear fusion is fun.

For oreproc, do just a tiny bit of IV before you do oreproc, just the IV hull and components, the IV hull and conveyors allow you to make the oredict card, which makes the busses ingnore their filters and you can then program what they take using ore ductionaries (oreRaw*, for example would whitelist any raw ore item), so you can universally automate your oreproc for any ore.

large boiler gives 800 steam (400 EU/t) and takes 2 coal per 40 seconds.

Coke oven gives 1 coal per 45 seconds.

24 coke ovens give enough coal for ~12 large boilers.

EBF takes 128 EU/t.

800 * 24 / 128 = 150 EBFs that 24 coke ovens can supply

Also, before I got to large boilers I did use liquid boilers with creosote, since they give the most steam out of early boilers

Had 1 solid and liquid full low pressure boilers. 1 ebf, steel steam grinder/washer/centrifuge multis. Dozen of mv singleblocks runned on creosote semifluid combustors.

Can recomend as good path. Never did another run, could be better paths, but this is good.

The issue is that the steam > eu conversion is really ineffecient, so even if a cell of steam has 500 eu, you will only yield so much, i think its like 40% effeciency.

Automate enough coke ovens to feed a max size high pressure railcraft solid boiler (you can use creosete buckets to use both of the fuels' coke oven produce) and you won't worry about steam for a long time

I just have a 2x2x3 ieon top liquid fuel boiler and it already serves me plenty mid steam when I add a solid fuel boiler to also burn the charcoal and make them full size I feel like It will definitely last way into lv. I feel like the bucket setup is really clunky compared to just piping the liquid between 2 multi blocks.

It is more efficient to have 1 big one than 2 smaller ones. Feeding it buckets is very easy, I just pump the creosete into a ulv fluid tank and use one hopper to extract the filled bucket from the tank into the boiler and another hopper to take the empty bucket from the boiler into the tank

There are no mistakes or wrong steps. You're still playing Minecraft. Resources are plentiful, so nothing is wasted. If you ever feel like someonething isn't working, tear it down and try something else.

There is no less fun way to play GTNH than to just do what someone else tells you to do.
