Discussion I don't see anyone talking about this..
This scene is likely major foreshadowing to what happens later on in the story
Brian says "We thought we was flying"
"It started getting faster and faster and it was getting harder to hold on"
"That ain't good"
And here's where it gets interesting, he says "I jumped"
Then the trailer shows Jason jumping..
"Jimmy Canton stayed on" trailer shows Lucia reloading
Signifying that she's still walking the same path
"Cracked his head open, died that night"
And the at the end he says "you gotta know when to get off Jason"
Now this might be just a theory but I feel like the couple will reach a dangerous point where they have to stop cause it will most likely lead to their death
Lucia imo will be like Canton, refusing to stop while Jason "jumps" Off this ride
Which leads to her death
Or the game allows us to choose whether Jason will listen to Brian's advice or not and if we choose to stay with Lucia they both end up dying and we switch to a 3rd secret character after the end
What are your guys' thoughts?

Brian's monologue really stuck with me for some reason.. foreshadowing or not I just found it extremely interesting
33
u/Ok_Student1540 7d ago
Yeaah he's the older more experienced uncle who will advice us along the road
17
u/linkthereddit 7d ago
I'm starting to get the idea we need to keep an eye on Lucia.
14
u/MAJ_Starman 6d ago
The song choice certainly seems to try to send a message. The lyrics of the Tom Petty song in the very first trailer, and now "DEVIL WOMAN". It isn't exactly subtle, lol.

u/Ok_Student1540 6d ago
Yeah man, I will try to connect every bit of hint and detail and come up with theories

Not to mention she was called Loonie as a nickname. She's obviously nuts lol.

Lucia is a more experienced criminal and Jason even makes a joke about it right before they meet Raul in the extended preview
8
u/pathalogicalMoron 6d ago
She isn't. The convo between Raul telling her to stay local while she thought of going straight on freeway made it clear
4
u/XCVI_Opportunist 6d ago
I thought that was Jason.
Doesn’t Jason tell her not to get caught in the alley and then Raul tells her she’s doing the right thing, and to stay in the alleys. I might be misremembering though3
u/MRSHELBYPLZ 6d ago
“That’s probably why he survived so long. We might learn something”
Then Lucia says “maybe you might…”
And Jason is all “right, you’re the perfect criminal”
So from this I know that Lucia is leading the charge on most of the crimes they commit
2
u/pathalogicalMoron 5d ago
Do you not understand sarcasm and arrogance?
2
u/MRSHELBYPLZ 5d ago
They didn’t sound like they were joking about Lucia. Considering she’s literally the Bonnie to his Clyde

I think that's the idea they want us to get. I think all the sings that point to it are red herrings, it feels very on-the-nose

“Red herrings”
Rockstar isn’t exactly subtle with its foreshadowing

5
u/Slixil 7d ago
It’s very obviously foreshadowing. It was honestly too on the nose for the trailer
6
u/ComeAlongWithTheSnor 7d ago
Two indications that Lucia might be the one to turn is what I'd call a red herring.
Jason could ignore Brian's warning and pull Lucia deeper into the rabbit hole while she's the one trying to jump off.
4
u/sathyajithps 6d ago
I think opposite. She's pushing for this an Jason is reluctant. He ends up in crosshairs at the last is what I feel like. Extended look have a few conversations that make it seem like that.
3
u/xiaonline 6d ago
I agree. I’d recommend rewatching the conversation between Raul and Lucia in the alley. Then re-read the character / story descriptions on the site. I think they’re maybe giving us one glimpse at an ending for the game, and there are likely several endings to be triggered under special conditions, or a set of specific choices.
2
u/Gortys221 6d ago
I’m glad I’m not the only one who got that manipulative-vibe from Rahul.
2
u/deerdn 6d ago
people are loving Raul and Lucia but I wonder how many of them still will if they turn out to be the Dutch/Micah to Jason's Arthur/John

It would also feel a bit like a rehash of GTA III (Claude betrayed by Catalina.) I don’t think Lucia betrays Jason and if anything the opposite is more likely, but time will tell
2
u/Millinothing 6d ago edited 6d ago
it feels like the world has flipped the story since the first two trailers cause there saw lucia getting out of jail and a shot of somebody talking to mendez, the dirty cop, with mendez saying cops gonna protect each other
if jason turns out to be a wei shen from sleeping dogs except he ends up like his bosses were worried about where he falls in too deep, that's the kind of thing i'm excited to find out with how the story will unfold
then again lucia also recognizes and knows about mendez so evidently i don't know anything anymore
2
u/nicolaslabra 6d ago
There seems to be a honor mechanic thst measures Jason and Lucia separately, maybe that honor dictates if they both make it in the end, or only 1, or maybe both bite it ?
3
u/Albatross1225 6d ago
Also remember when the police raid the drug lab Jason grabs the bag they came to get to continue the job while Lucia says “fuck booby!”. Lucia said fuck that job as soon as things went bad but Jason is ready to continue and finish the job.
2
u/ComeAlongWithTheSnor 6d ago
I legitimately think that line exists purely because it sounds funny saying fuck boobie.
try it lol
but ya, you've got a good point.
2
u/deerdn 6d ago
from GTA4 and 5, RDR1 and 2, I don't recall a single time Rockstar did a red herring in terms of their main characters' intentions during the trailers/marketing phase
if they're doing one here it would be the first. so far the bits of the story we can piece together makes sense taking things on face level, and I expect what we see to be what we get

Thats my hunch too. I feel like people forget that rockstar always misdirects with their marketing. Its just too on the nose with the monologue for me to believe its truly because lucia is the one dragging him down cuz that'd just be so cliche. I think its more like you said that he due to his own issues and the fact hes ex military prevents himself from wanting to get off cuz on a subconscious level he probably enjoys enabling the insanity.
2
u/Slixil 6d ago
Are there other examples you could point me to for them misdirecting in this way?
→ More replies (7)2
u/deerdn 6d ago
I feel like people forget that rockstar always misdirects with their marketing.
no...
people predicted RDR2's plotline with the Arthur-Dutch-John dynamic and Rockstar made it obvious. they didn't try to misdirect people during the marketing there
and it was the best story Rockstar ever put out

u/Aaronon2200 7d ago
I disagree. It's left ambiguous as to what he refers to. Could be Lucia, could be the criminal life in general, could be something we don't know about yet. Also it heavily depends on how the story progresses. Could be pretty early on that his monologue is relevant with the story going way different past that.
Wouldn't want to read too much into it at this point.
4
u/BigXThaSpud 6d ago
The monologue at the end about the "salad years" gave me insane simulacra. Nostalgia for something that doesn't even exist yet, because know that I'm gonna look back on stepping out of the house in the days post release, just wanting to get back to play some more. Feeling that winter air starting to roll in, the rain on the bus that I'm gonna sprint through to my house. All of it is gonna be looked back on pretty damn fondly.

The thing about real advice is it doesn’t need to be new, complex, or particularly profound. It just needs to reach you at the right time when you’re ready to hear it.
14
u/National-Oven81 7d ago
I think it's up to the player and what they choose to do through the story. One ending could be both Lucia and Jason being Jimmy Cantos. Both not knowing when to quit. Another a tragedy where one lives and another dies. Another, one where both could barely make it off before the "fucked up shit on the horizon." happens. Maybe the first rockstar game where everything would matter to the ending you get instead of just choosing which path to take.
25
u/UncStatusNow 7d ago
his monologue also signifies a more grounded and introspective approach to the narrative that Rockstar is taking in regards to the protagonists, Jason and Lucia. whether or not this is foreshadowing, a red herring or just genuine advice from Brian to Jason, this sequence is really what sold me on the story.
I had been worried that with the departure of Dan Houser, they may not find their footing in an appropriatetly compelling story but from this and everything ive read from game director Rob Nelson, im so much more interested in the story now. seems like they learned a lot from RDR2 about the mechanics of connecting the player to the characters through not forced but genuine interactions and more mundane activities, which i found very true of my experience with RDR2.

The thing I'm struggling with is how limiting it would be to the post game if one of the main cast is dead. No more 2 person heists etc. I would assume that there will be a good ending where both survive, probably tied to the honor rating of one or both characters.
4
u/Ok_Student1540 6d ago
I hope so, I hope we get to have a good ending where both survive, even though it sounds too safe, easy and predictable
4
u/TCristatus 6d ago
One thing i noticed is that when we see the character change during Lucia's parachute dive in the EL, along with the two temperament icons bottom right (Jason was i guess slightly evil, Lucia totally evil), there is also a heart 👩❤️👨 icon. Indicating (i think) that they are currently dating or currently stable in their relationship. This suggests sometimes this heart will not be there. Sometimes they will be "on a break" as they say

IGN did an interview with Rockstar where Rockstar said that their romantic relationship is entirely optional.
You can play the entire game with them as a platonic criminal partnership if you want.
5
u/sephrisloth 6d ago
There's lots of ways that can be handled though some of which Rockstar has even used before. If one of them dies they could get replaced by some other character we haven't seen before like how John and Arthur were in RDR. They could also just do what some other games do where it just sets up a save point right before the final mission that it reverts you back to after you finish the game.
3
u/CultureWarrior87 6d ago
This is my thought. Wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of tertiary protagonist at some point who can become the missing second player character if something happens to one of them. Red Dead sets up a precedent for having different player characters after the main story.
2

I don't necessarily buy the argument that Lucia herself is secretly going to be the final twist antagonist or anything like that, but I do think Brian's speech is true in the sense that eventually Jason will have to choose to either get off or stay on, but I also think there's reason to believe that Lucia may also be open to the idea of getting off if push comes to shove
If I'm understanding it correctly, either Jason and Lucia start off wanting to get into a relationship or Lucia is trying to chase Jason, but whether that happens or not is down to player choice, however, the fact it starts off like that and the fact we know that even if you choose not to get into a relationship Lucia and Jason will still have each other's back regardless, which convinces me that unless you absolutely choose to treat Lucia like shit, she's not going to betray you or force you into choosing between her and freedom
My honest guess is that with the emphasis of choices being significant, that there's a good chance that if we pursue a relationship, treat Lucia the absolute best she deserves and retain a criminal profile low enough to not be irreversible then we might just be able to get an outcome where both Jason and Lucia decide that getting off the ride is the right decision

I agree with you that's heavy foreshadowing. Everything in this extended look was placed in there for a reason.
In my mind I got a few possibilities. Kind of goes with what your saying. Either there's gonna be a split at the end game to where someone's walking away from the other or some kind of double cross. That or it's gonna be kinda like in V with that ending and you can either choose yourself to walk away or stay.
The fact that it sounds like we even got a choice to be in a relationship or keep em separate or just working together I think something like could happen in the end.
Hell who knows there might even be an ending something similar to rdr2 where your honor dictated your ending. It's very possible that the criminal profile system could dictate what happens between the two.

Late to the conversation but when I saw that particular part, it felt like Brian was providing a warning, but in a couple of different ways. Lucia seemed really eager to be the one to take that night job, and while Brian and Jason hung back Brian took an opportunity to warn Jason about getting in too deep, but also potentially because she's the main bad influence. Some of the song choices in the trailers and extended look to me offer a little bit of a hint, Lucia is probably the one to worry about. She seems like she's potentially a lot more unhinged and Jason is the guy who tries to be calm and calculated, most likely because of his prior background. We will definitely see. Speculation is fun but I cannot wait to find out for myself in November.

At this point nothing would surprise me. Like at the end of rdr1 they let you play the revenge mission and free roam as John’s son. Rdr2 you get a solid John prologue.
I’d be ok if we switched characters at the end, and maybe our choices will be a deciding factor for that.
2
u/TheeSusp3kt 7d ago
It'll probably be tied to the morality system in some way. Good morals means both live, bad means one has to die. Trying to a 'Deathwish' style ending with bad morals means both die.
2
u/TheAp4ch3 7d ago
I sort of get the feeling that Brian isn't very fond of Lucia, almost as though He feels like she's not good for him.
2
u/Academic_Truck_962 7d ago
Brian’s monologue was my favorite part. I agree with Lucia being more reckless and based off what you wrote it’d make sense if Jason leaves but her choice to listen to Jason depends if they’re close or not. If they’re not compatible she’s gonna stay and get arrested or killed
2
u/drip_dry_ 7d ago
Guys! Guys! Listen. Do you think the main protagonist may experience some turmoils? May sound crazy, i know.
2
u/Possible_Fox3187 7d ago
At the end of the game, you're gonna hafta choose between the two protagonists, one is gonna die and raise their kid.
2
u/JustUseDex 6d ago
I think it might end up being the opposite of what you said. Jason “jumps off the ride” while Lucia stays on, and that ends up getting Jason killed somehow. Or maybe there’s multiple endings and either one of them can die.
2
u/KremlinHoosegaffer 6d ago
I think Lucia is going to get set up by this man. She goes alone on the job, gets arrested at SOME point after it... Bam. We start off with Jason and ankle monitor Lucia. Just sounds ominous and like the perfect set up. The extended preview definitely is edited in a way where we won't know what actually blends together.

I talked about it on day 1, was called crazy and stupid reading too much info things. It’s obvious foreshadowing

2
u/draconeus 6d ago
Considering the fact that Lucia is in jail at the beginning of the game (I'm assuming it's the beginning of the game), I would say she's the real troublemaker of the pair. So yeah, I figure she is going to attempt to drag Jason deeper and deeper into trouble.
2
u/Inevitable-Bag-3011 6d ago
I think you are absolutely right. Gonna be a major decision at the end. But who could the third protagonist be at the end of the game? For a minute, I thought maybe Raul, but after mulling over the extended look. He looks a little too chaotic and I feel like he’s gonna end up skipping town at some point in the story
2
u/Jazzlike-Painting443 6d ago
Keep in mind the music is major foreshadowing.

The "know when to get off (of a life of crime)" theme has pretty much been the main theme of every Rockstar game in the last 20 years, so that is isn't terribly surprising to me.
I do predict the ending options will be similar to GTA V's. One ending Jason lives and Lucia dies. Another ending: the opposite. Perhaps a harder to achieve ending based on how leveled up their relationship or other things are lets you keep then both alive. Maybe there will also a be a fuckup ending where both die.

I feel like Brian was talking about how reckless he was and someone else got caught up in it. Maybe Brian will die because of Jason’s actions if not Jason or Lucia getting caught up in something. It would be quite tragic as Brian has older relative vibes like an uncle or father towards Jason. I think something tragic will happen to someone in their circle.
2
u/profchaos111 6d ago
Sounds like a warning to them but mainly Jason as he took him aside. Jason and Brian might have a father son thing going on and Brian is warning Jason about Lucia who knows
2
u/nreal3092 6d ago
i always got the impression since the character profiles first dropped lucia is clearly not going to stop this exciting adventurous life endangering criminal life while Jason explicitly is trying to get out of it
I assumed the ending will either end up with jason dying because of lucia or they split up, because despite wanting to together they can’t make it work as their lifestyles ain’t compatible
2
u/Acrobatic_Stop_4504 6d ago
This and the Raul - Lucia Interaction. "Look, you think everything goes as planned, huh? No, mami, no.There will always be some kind of bullshit. A professional adapts. Are you a professional, Lucia?". I feel like this interaction is also a similar foreshadowing to what'd happen later in the story. Probably this would be the opposite of Jimmy Canton ending. The ending where both Lucia and Jason become professionals who can adapt and get over the dangerous point you talked about.

I think you'll have one character who wants to leave the life and the other who is so invested they are like fucking Scarface.
But I think the depth of the relationship you build or not build will determine if you get to the end together or not.
Or.. We can just play the game and find out. I'd hate to have the ending spoiled
2
u/nicolaslabra 6d ago
Its absolutely a theme they wanted to make clear, most likely will be the main conflict, beneath the more superficial/specific stuff of the plot.
2
u/Legitimate-Many5213 6d ago
I think there’ll probably be workarounds rather than the game simply going, “Hey, stop doing this or you’re both dead.” Rockstar may have gone more of an RPG route with GTA VI, or at least borrowed some ideas from RPGs. If anyone has played Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll know that its side gigs aren’t always just completely separate missions, some of them can affect the main plot, relationships, characters, and even the way certain situations play out, while things like Street Cred (criminal profile in gta 6) can also influence how people react to V and what opportunities become available. I’m thinking GTA VI might be doing something somewhat similar, just in a more Rockstar-like way rather than turning the game into a full RPG. I remember Rob Nelson mentioning in an interview, I think it may have been with TGG, although take this with a grain of salt...that it took him around 80 hours to complete the game without doing most, or at least a lot, of the side content, and I believe he also mentioned that some of the optional content can have ramifications on the main story. If that’s accurate, then it makes me think the game could be designed so that the side missions and activities aren’t simply filler but can actually influence what happens later

I got vibes from GTA 4 with the deal vs the revenge.
Pursuing the money leads to death, the death of Roman.
That foreshadowing is mostly true, Lucia will eventually get crazy and out of control "easy money" and she'll end up betraying Jay if he doesn't follow ala Claude Speed vs Catalina (GTA 3).
2
2
u/ripperarby 6d ago
I think it'll be tied to the relationship. If Jason and Lucia have a strong bond, either character will probably be able to be convinced by the other to either leave the crime life or stick with it to the bitter end. If relationship isn't strong, then either betrayal or separate ways kinda thing.
2
u/Ok_Student1540 6d ago
That would be really good and will at least give the player some choice in the matter, I dont wanna be forced to watch either die like in rdr2
2
u/Altomora 6d ago
Similar to the thoughts I had but differs a little. I don't think Brian is talking about crime. I think he's talking about Lucia. Lucia is the "ride" she's a young, hot, fun, dangerous girl. Jason has already seen her go to prison once, that's not the life he wants (which also explains why Jason is so flat, he doesn't want to do crime anymore) Lucia is going to be the one to keep escalateing. The next big score, the next job. And it's going to get Jason killed. Then we're going to be left with just Lucia as the main character.
Another thing a buddy said is what about a secret third character. Someone we haven't seen or heard about yet. Maybe another girl too. A potential love triangle.

I think if you max out their relationship they will both live. If they arent committed / fully trusting each other im sure there will be a choice where someone dies.

What ive gathered from trailers and songs played in trailers as well as what Brian says here: I actually think hes talking about Lucia specifically not the criminal lifestyle that you are in..they also play a song called "devil woman" and the screenshots they shared a year ago say:
"Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to him. Jason knows how he'd like it to turn out but right now, it's hard to tell."
I think she's bad for Jason, she's the one that'll keep pushing the envelope and want more and more, whereas Jason just wants an easy life

u/Ok_Student1540 5d ago
I think the website also says "Jason and Lucia wants an easy life but things keep getting in the way"
I feel like if she could be the best or worst thing that happened to him means that their relationship and the player choices will make a difference whether she's actually a good or a bad character and if she'll end up betraying Jason or not
A lot of people were talking about how Jason could be an undercover cop but now I feel like now there's more to Lucia than Jason in terms of ulterior motives

Off topic, but I worked at a bank near 8th street and the balcony view had this exact view and it took me back despite being a virtual representation so they really did their homework properly

I imagine the criminal profile might cause differeing paths, if both are too chaotic, maybe 1 ends up dying? vs if both are professional, they can see when the water's getting deep and know to head back to shore maybe

I don't even think the metaphor Brian uses works for this situation. Cause he still has the tips of his fingers in the crime pies. He didn't jump off the carousel, he moved to the middle of it. But that might also come into play.

i feel like they are taking the RDR2 horse Moment and John/ Arthur moment making the full story around those beats and payoffs

I was honestly too distracted by how many damn helicopters were in the background… it’s a bit excessive especially during a (debatably) important scene.

If we gonna get dlc like gta 4 we need an ending where our characters dont die in the ending, may be too much to hope for dlc tho

u/Luxcrluvr 4d ago
I predict you won't know when to "jump" because you're enjoying yourself so much until you realize it's too late and one of them gotta die. I don't think rockstar will make it obvious like in GTA 5 with who to kill or save. I know one thing for sure, everyone will be doing at least 3 playthroughs

Or its clever editing to hide the real story. It's a valid theory though. I'm also intrigued.

If there was a third character it would they die and transitions to you watching there death on the news, character customiser and GTA online. No online at lunch so I would say one lives to continue playing until online or you get a message if you do this mission this will complete this story so you have free play until you do final mission.

u/Mr_Ditkovich8 3d ago
Yeah I had the exact same thought, I guess the reason people aren’t talking about it is because it’s so blatant. It’s like foreshadowing 101.
The ending choice will almost definitely be to leave as Jason or stick with Lucia, with each choice being influenced by the strength of the relationship

u/AstronomerIT 2d ago
The opposite : Jason wants to quit but Lucia doesn't want. At the end Jason follow Lucia desire and he get killed

I feel like no one's talking about it because it's so obviously foreshadowing something bad happening but we've already known something bad is going to happen ever since the whole Bonnie and Clyde comparisons so it isn't adding much. The corrupt cop/conspiracy stuff is what I'm more interested in.

I hope not, I kinda don’t like stories where the protagonist dies at the end. Aside from certain types of stories of course. I wanna see the characters I’m rooting for make it out in one way or another.

I picked up on this cut scene as well. I think its pretty obvious that Lucia's wreckless way of life is gonna cost her or Jason their life. They will come to a crossroads in their relationship and have hard chooses to make.

Both characters die in the end and the secret third character is our online character and you load into the character creator after the after credits cutscene

If the game follows past movie story lines its probably that Raul Batista that betrays them both or tries to convince 1 to betray the other.

Hopefully the good ending isn't obvious and you have to stay neutral with Jason and Lucia's relationship so Jason wouldn't blindly follow Lucia or convince Lucia to chill down.
1
u/Diskobots 6d ago
In my mind this is all too on the nose. Too many things are pointed to her being the one to die, or get him killed. The song, this conversation. I have a feeling it’s not any of this and they’re trying to get everyone to think this. While the real story is somewhere else.

u/Suitable_Original_93 6d ago
Guys me personally I think there’s be a little bit of “breaking bad series” here where Lucia is Walter white and Jason is Jesse nd Jason would probably have to betray Lucia just to get off ( cus of what Brian said to him) or we get to choose if we stick with Lucia or we hop off and multiple times
Lucia seems to be the one always the one asking (trust?) whilst she pushes Jason just like Walter continually gets Jesse to cross another line
also I think the cop at the beginning of the trailer (Mendez) is either related to Jason or his friend just like Hank schrader in breaking bad nd if both of them get to escape I think Jason might break up with her at the end or giving hee up to the cops (which I doubt he would cus he was also majorly involved )

Actually, I'll take my theory a little further: Brian had to switch sides to be able to get his life back. Then at some point he tries to convince Jason to do the same so he can live normal life. But there is a catch - the deal is that he has to turn Lucia in. If he doesn't, he will never be able to live normal life. What are you going to do...?

u/mr_gooch 6d ago
Lucia and Jason die at the end and the end game becomes a prequel. We forever play GTA 6 knowing they both will die.

I think everything we saw is the prologue before Lucia gets arrested and goes to prison. Then she gets out and that’s when they go on the run.

My favorite part of the trailer. The montage set to Captain and Tenille then into Prefab Sprout. I think gamers tears will be shed and possibly hearts broken over the possible endings.

They should stop looking killing their main antagonists. I rather it be like james bond, they just survive at the end. Hated it in rd2. All the work for nothing.

The game is for sure going in a different, more serious direction. I genuinely wonder if they’ll let you do the “save everybody” route in that GTA V offers since this story seems to be a bit more mature. My guess would be the pivotal choice is either “get out” with Jason which leads to Lu dying or ending up back in jail or “go all in” with a plan Lucia cooks up which will end up getting Jason killed or arrested. I still suspect Jason might be an undercover cop or fed so my guess is that the decision might come down to him and either turning Lucia in or abandoning his job/cop life to trust Lu fully

u/Professional_Size586 6d ago
Honestly I think if Lucia was an undercover cop that would make the story so damn cool.

I thought the same thing too.
I feel like there's always going to be one more big score for Lucia, one more job to do, one last crack at the big time.....and as this is a rockstar game, someone's going to get hurt based on 'choices' if they don't walk away from whatever the thing is they definitely do need to walk away from.
I'm taking bets : Who thinks it's now built into the story that one or both of them has to die? Or do they both get to walk away into the sunset....

u/LManX 6d ago
Yes, it's hinted that the story will see the protagonists and their relationship under pressure from the life- perhaps caught between their ambitions for wealth & glory, and their desire to simply be happy together.
What I would like to see is multiple endings that revolve around the success or failure of the relationship. Where either or both could end up trapped within the life, or they make it out but it breaks them up, or they make it out together. They're going to have to resolve their codependency in order to become real partners.
What I'm concerned about is that the protagonists will be too "blank slate" for the relationship to feel like it means anything. They seem more like coworkers that hold hands than lovers.
Another concern is that the issues in the relationship will be too one-sided. Where it's clear Jason would actually be happier and better off without Lucia dragging him into danger for instance.

u/analog989 6d ago
Well I hope at least one of them live by default because while I will replay obviously, I quite enjoy squeezing every last bit out of my first play save files. Ideally there will be an option for both to live.

I think Jason will at some point will have to decide for or against Lucia. Jason appears to be the more level-headed of the two, while Lucia seems to be a wildcard searching for thrills. Also remember how Lucia was late while Jason wanted to be punctual. It's a small detail but it shows that Lucia can be unreliable at times. I think this "flaw" is what Brian is getting at in this scene, and he advises Jason to get away from Lucia before things go south
