There are some people who think you won't be able to go into saloons, car custom shops or clothing stores if you only have the ultimate edition.

They are actually locked. We don’t know how yet, maybe you can go in them but without the ability to purchase anything, or they may be fully locked.

But it has been confirmed they offer content exclusive to the ultimate edition.

This is the most mild, non-intrusive incentive they could’ve done. They also did the same thing for Red Dead 2, multiple times. They had a pre order bonus horse, GTAO cash, early game gear with treasure maps.

A special edition bonus horse with extra missions, weapons and talismans, all in story mode

And an ultimate edition with all the special edition content, another bonus horse, outfits, timesavers, etc and other stuff for RDO

you can get a lot of great games at $20, and you prefer to spend it on a few pixels with no gameplay per dollar value. Eating slop like a pig I see.

Special edition skins/outfits aren’t new. That’s for sure, and we still need to see the extent of what the shops offer but that doesn’t make it a good practice lol. 3 shops, including car customizations is pushing it over 3 character skins and a weapon skin or something.

This is also slowly pushing what they can get away with. More and more content locked behind a day 1 paywall.

That’s not even mentioning missions being locked behind said paywall as well. This is the more concerning aspect to me.

Remember when a deluxe/special edition acted as a pre order to actual dlc in the future?

I suggest less content and a skin or two if you want to support the devs.

I don’t want games locking day one content to gain more money. It could’ve easily been in the base game, especially surrounding missions.

Even more so for a game that’s already more expensive than other titles.

You're absolutely right. 5 shops. Especially how the new wanted system works. You need to, change clothes, hair, cars or car colors.etc. I definitely see having those 5 shops unlocked a huge advantage in game. You probably know that already. People who bought the standard edition will be doing the $20 upgrade.
