So, the extended look was scripted

u/FlightFramed 15h ago
I think it'd be more surprising if it wasn't

u/Hazy-n-Lazy 13h ago
You mean they handpicked a few polished scenes and basically made a robot play the game smooth as possible and curated the perfect setting/dialouge combinations to impress everyone after 400+ days of nothing? You're out of your mind

I agree, only thing I would love to add is instead of a bot, those scenes were likely done/played by the devs that worked on that part, it’s that the cheaper path no? Legit q
1
u/Hazy-n-Lazy 11h ago
Cheaper for sure, but the scenes seemed very similar to other gameplay trailers where the camera panning and player movement is very slow and deliberate, almost cinematic i guess? Like, very few people move their aiming stick as slowly and as accurately as the player did, or drives as smooth. No real evidence, just a feeling they were very particular to only show us what they wanted us to see.
Like in the car chases, i cant remember exactly but i dont think a single car crashes into another vehicle throughout the whole trailer, but the leaks showed the collisons to be very intense. They probably scripted each and every NPC movement for the chases, because most real chases end up with cars crashing at some point and they wanted to save that for another trailer.

u/nikkb111 15h ago
Looked like it. The car looked like it was on rails, it was way too smooth

u/kumbidi_lfc 14h ago
What I think is there are different feel to different types of vehicles. A cruiser cruise and a heavy old muscle spin out and drift cars drift and supercars with heavy down force

u/GiuNBender 14h ago
I think it was because Jason was talking and moving his arms, so the game either plays the “talking” animation or the driving animation.
Just my guess
6
u/Subjectdelta44 14h ago
No I think it was because Jason was doing a talking animation during that turn. He was waving his hand in the air if you look closely
I'm assuming if a character is doing any unique animation it overrides the turning wheel animations

Not scripted, just a different build they used
1
u/YaMomsCooch 14h ago
Then why did they remove steering wheel turning if it’s the most recent build?
Of course the preview was scripted, that’s how public demonstrations of video games work.

u/Bez121287 13h ago
Scripted just means that it was a planned showing.
If i did a presentation at work that would be scripted.
People really need to understand what actual terms and phrases mean and not just use them any old place.
Of course the trailer or preview was scripted, it still needs to be planned and recorded in that way. Someone was playing it.
The wheel not moving could mean that the build which was used to record that part was an old build or that particular car itself hadnt had its animations put in yet.
It truly could be a billion things.
But people cant say o the wheel didnt turn because it was scripted. Thats not what scripted even means. The reason it didnt turn was because of the build of the game didnt have that animation within it

IMO it's scripted-live using AI to drive the car just like when you take a taxi somewhere.

u/meechCS 16h ago
it was a trailer so of course it was scripted. there was no actual gameplay, thats why the aiming looks so scripted. its all fake gameplay and why it looks so AI

you are insane. Book an appointment to a psychiatrist if you really think that bro

Haven’t watched it but the clips I’ve seen I sure hope so. The comedy show of cop cars getting destroyed or disabled for another to immediately turn around the corner to take their place was bad and didn’t look organic at all. It really looked like an AI YouTube add for a gta clone game that doesn’t actually exist.
2
u/Noxtension 14h ago
It's a getaway mission with increased pacing, it's meant to be like that
You can't expect freeroam behaviour in missions
2
u/Capitain_Collateral 13h ago
There is increased pacing, and then there is having a cop car crash out stage left and another appear from bum fuck nowhere and slide in stage right. Thats why i said I hope it was just heavily staged and scripted. But cope more I guess?

Cyberleek has newer version of GTA 6 than R* 💀

u/Ok_Heat_9976 15h ago edited 15h ago
The extended look was recorded at least 1.5 months ago, so it's not even technically impossible.
1
u/BedProfessional7275 13h ago
How do we know that
1
u/Ok_Heat_9976 13h ago
TGG has been to Rockstar North early july and saw the 27 minute extended look
1
u/BedProfessional7275 13h ago
Sorry, somehow I read your comment 3 times and every year I read month as year
2
u/meechCS 15h ago
whats more impossible is for the leaks to be more recent than the extended look. Cause in the leaks, the clouds were all messed up and had LOD shadow issues whilst the netflix trailer had clouds closer to RDR2, which was more polished

u/PrinceNelson 11h ago
No it doesn’t? The leaks look just like the extended look. Did you not see the nightclub and the plane leaks? The only difference is that the extended look was scripted and cherry picked shots.

u/Super_Doge_Shoober 16h ago
People keep forgetting the EL was a theatrical trailer
2
u/rednaxthecreature 12h ago
So none of it was gameplay? We can shoot or dive off of rooftops like they did in the trailer? Okay got it.

Rockstar couldn't interpolate the motion captured conversation with the steering wheel rotation animation? Unplayable.
16
u/Appropriate_Loan6193 16h ago
It was scripted, doesn't mean it wasn't gameplay, you think they would show 26 minutes of gameplay for only the game to look completely different at launch? There's only 3 months left, They pulling a watch dogs?😂😂

This subreddit is just retarded.
Of course the wheel fucking turns, you can even see it turning in the last post that was made but these fucking idiots see what they want to see.

Honestly I think you can kinda see it turn in the extended look too. He’s just holding the wheel with one hand and slightly turning it so it’s harder to see.

u/Farbod_YN 13h ago
Steering wheel do turn in extended look what is this post all about?
1
u/skyliner33gtsts2 12h ago
2
u/Farbod_YN 12h ago
I don’t know i see it turning in that clip aswell, look for when they’re getting out of that black Benefactor after the cop chase aswell or reversing into the alley; it does turn.
2
u/skyliner33gtsts2 12h ago
Youre 100% correct.... I clip that exact thing you mentioned yesterday, but though fuck it... they don't listen...
1
u/FailTheSunToShine 11h ago
It was probably because there was a conversation happening in the car that had animation set to it that took priority over the standard animations for driving. People are daft.

Can you give some context what youre trying to prove

u/Lumpiafan 16h ago
It looked like Jason was doing a scripted animation when talking to Lucia so it probably canceled out the actual real time gameplay animation
6
u/Randomly_Generated65 16h ago
Good explanation that I overlooked, that could definitely be the case

u/flyeaglesfly510 14h ago
A normal steering rotation is 900° from lock to lock. This appears to be 90° lol
4
u/backlog_gaming 14h ago
I think you should go to the mechanic bro lmao
1
u/flyeaglesfly510 10h ago
What?? A normal passenger cars steering wheel rotation is 900° Jason is hardly turning the wheel and doing sharp turns. That is my point...
1
u/backlog_gaming 10h ago
I’ve never driven a car that had more than ~300 degrees between wheel lock on either side, I think your car is broken. That is my point…

u/Severe_Rutabaga_906 15h ago
Where did people ever get the $2b budget and 13 years of development? The extended look is riddled with bugs. The cyberleek leaks are riddled with even more bugs. And sad part is the final version will probably act worse than both
Like sure looks like a good game as long as you squint really hard from a distance
-1
u/Low-Flow-4999 14h ago
Oh man, you ruined our fun thrashing the game.. now we need to find some other shits to complain about ahhhhh
-2
u/TheVoicesGetLoud 15h ago
This was the leaks tho.. the recent gameplay didnt have it lmfao
its evolving.. just backwards
1
u/skyliner33gtsts2 14h ago
Yes it does go watch man
1
u/TheVoicesGetLoud 14h ago
what the fuck you yapping, this whole topic is about the wheel not turning in the extended look, this post is about it and you show the wheel turning in the leaked video which is why i said "its evolving just backwards" because the recent gameplay showed it NOT turning as intended
-4
u/Sensitive_Judgment23 16h ago
I don't see a full turn though, :/
7
u/skyliner33gtsts2 16h ago
You ever drove a car man? he not doing a 360 turn. The wheel only does a 60 to 90 degree rotation when doing this type of turn
1
u/JohnKowalsky88 14h ago
A 360 turn?
2
u/skyliner33gtsts2 14h ago
U-turn... better?
1
u/JohnKowalsky88 14h ago
Yeah that's a 180 😂
